Sorry for not having written in awhile! I wanted to comment on the guest comics. My grandmother recently died so my updates have been on autopilot. In other news, I’ve decided to keep updating on the weekends. Tuesdays and Thursdays won’t have regular comics but only bonus comics. At least, I’ll do that for another month or two. Anyway, on to the bonus comics!
XKCD(pt.1): This was based very loosely on actual events. I try to update between midnight and 3am (pacific standard time). Around this time, however I was watching a movie with friends and I said that exact phrase “Wait a minute, it’s midnight! I have to update my site!” Then I realized how dorky that sounded and took it from there. Also, I put a snowman on the computer screen.
Toothpastefordinner: I based it off of the classic toothpastefordinners, when Drew still had a day-job. I love toothpastefordinner, thank god it updates daily. Also, snowman!
NatalieDee: Some of them are hit and miss. They’re cute, and I thought it would be fun to have one with a colored background. White gets so dreary for snowmen. (Although they prefer it to green, haha).
RPG Comic: I didn’t pick one because it seems like there’s so many. And really, they’re all the same. Everyone hates fighter. There’s only one girl if at all. And they all have the big anticipation to a not-so-funny joke.
WhiteNinja: I like reading whiteninja, but they’re very much hit-or-miss for me, which is disappointing in a comic that updates only 3x a week. It was fun drawing WN’s legs, idk why. I was going to draw marshmellows on his arms, but then I forgot and kept forgetting to fix it. So that’s how it is.
Crtl-Alt-Del: I had 2 ideas going for this one, and I went with the one up there in memory of my Grandmother. It took FOREVER to draw, even though it looks like crap. Seriously guys, I got carpletunnels after drawing that strip it took so long. I didn’t really like it that much in the end because it didn’t use their main characters but went off of their occasional side commentaries. Ah, well.
XKCD(pt.2): Why do XKCD twice? Because it’s easy to draw! Although this one took a bit of time. I like this one the best out of all the bonus comics. I love watching bonus features. BONUS FEATURES! Also, if you’re a true BTTF fan, you should have thought that there’s a more obvious BTTF reference than the four. Just saying. Sadly, there's no snowman.
MTTS(pt.1): The thing I love about MTTS is how it makes you go, what? That’s what this one does.
MTTS(pt.2): This one was awesome. I believe the essence to MTTS is putting dirty comments to Victorian style pictures. This one does that quite well. I’d say it’s the dirtiest thing on my site. If you are offended, look at this comic by the actual authors.

Hope everyone had a great Cinco de Mayo! If you think it’s Mexican Independence Day, for shame. It’s really 16 September, gring@s. Cinco de Mayo is more like . . . France’s Bastille Day, but not even because Mexico doesn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo very much.
In other dates, hope you get to observe 1234567. That is, 12:34, 5/6/07. I already have once, looking forward to the second one later today! Don’t forget. The next 1234567 will be 1:23 4/5/67. That’s 67 in the future. The future . . . hmmm, I should watch BTTF again.

Late update! It happens when you’ve blurred the boundaries of day and night with quasi-nocturnalism. It’s up and fixed. Woot. Also, I redid a comic from a few days back. I like the new caption a lot better, the old one didn’t sit with me very well.

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!! Love you!

Tons of site updates, I cannot even begin! You are looking at hours of site work, my viewers.
For starters, I have a new left menu bar layout. This is close to the 5th menu bar layout I’ve made, and I am finally in love! All of the previous menu bars made me just go “eh, it works” but this new menu layout has beguiled my heart. It fits, it’s edgy, it looks professional but cartoonish. Perfect.
A few interesting things about the menu bar for those of you none-too-familiar with webdesign (me for the most part). All the previous menu bars used rollover (aka mouse-over) images. This means that instead of just one image, it loads two and shows the second image when your mouse hovers over the first image. I deleted the old images, and then noticed Dreamweaver had foolishly left in the HTML for rolling over the buttons and viewing second images, even though there was nothing to roll over! I’m glad I caught this, although I’m sure there’s other little silly errors I don’t even know about it.
Next, I now have a FORUM!!! It’s in its preliminary stages to be sure, but I have one none-the-less! The forum is hosted by another site (hence the adverts), and I’m not about to shell out more money for it to be on my own site, thank you very much. I tried downloading phpBB2 and making it on my own, but I’m afraid my technical know-how fell short with the Installation. I highly suspect Angelfire and its page permission policy is to blame. I may hire a real webmaster to help set it up for me so it can be totally awesome, but that won’t happen soon.
Finally, not as grand, but still something I’ve been meaning to get to for awhile: an end page for the normal and bonus comics. Now when you press “previous” on the last comic it takes you to a page telling you you’ve reached the end, instead of just the “Extras” page. Yay.

Hey internet! I’ve been pretty busy working on the site, as you can tell! I’ve got over a month of comics lined up in addition to having made lots of site improvements. I think I will be taking a week-long site break. Making an awesome comic site, maintaining it daily, constantly changing everything for the better along with drawing every single comic is a lot more work than people may realize.
So what am I going to do on my break? I have re-discovered the most awesome anime show ever. Scratch that, the only awesome anime show ever. I’m not a fan of anime at all, but this one is awesome. It’s called Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I like to think of it as a parody of anime shows. It’s basically nonsense crammed into 30 minutes. Nonsense being the Fist of the Nosehair dojo populated by fish who are defeated when you rub jam on them. Sheer awesomeness because it constantly makes you go, “what?!”

STORE STORE STORE STORE STORE!!!! I finally have products! You can now buy my shirts and support capitalism and me! This site has been quite a large project to maintain, upgrade and draw. If I end up selling enough stuff, I’ll upgrade my store to stock more shirts. Email me with requests, I just chose the ones I thought would be most popular (and easily translated to a t-shirt).

A few more changes to the site! I just added a favorite icon to the website. Now if you save it in your favorites, you’ll see a snowflake as the bookmark image. Way cool. For those of you who did not realize this, it is super, super hard to draw on the small of a scale. Seriously, 16x16 pixels?! Does not leave much room for mistakes and images get way distorted when shrunk down that small. Also, I’m working on a few more products for the store (messenger bags and a hat).
In other news, many of you know I go to UCSB. I just got a meaningless intern job. I’ve always wondered how for-profit businesses got to hire people for no money. It makes me think of slavery, or at the least indentured servitude. I always wonder how they can legally hire people without paying them; I feel like that would have been outlawed.
So anyway, I am working with this marine research group called PISCO. Basically what I do is search through ocean samples using a microscope and a probe. I look for about a dozen different kinds of creatures (who are usually the size of large grains of sand) and count how many are in each sample. It requires some nice probe fine motor skills, and I think it’ll improve my ability to draw. Or give my carpel-tunnels.

Store awesomeness! It’s now frickin’ great! Sure there’s not many designs right now, but, meh! There’ll be more images to choose from as times goes on.
In other news, just last night I saw a concert by True Colors, a local UCSB band. You guys rocked! They played a lot of awesome songs, I was so impressed. The best-because-it-was-terrible song was “Common People” by William Shatner. Oh Bill, music is not your forte. There was also a great original song they played towards the beginning. And, nobody blew smoke in my face at the concert! I love it when that doesn’t happen to me. It’s annoying and makes my throat sore, bleargh. Anyway. . . buy my stuff!
