Man, the thing I hate the most about the new month is rolling over the blog. I've got everything effort streamlined so that flipping the blog dates to be in chronological order has become my webmaster-side most arduous task. I'm sure there's some kind of blog technology that would do that for me, but I refuse to outsource something that easy. So I guess I've just dug my own grave.
So somehow I ended up posting the same comic twice here and here. Oops. I have two theories on how this happened, and in fact both theories might have conspired to create a perfect storm of comic repetition.
First, awhile ago, at the start of the month, I transitioned from 7 comics a week to 5 comics to 3 comics a week (not counting the bonus comics). I had already had some comics planned out for specific days of the next month, so I had to reshuffle the comics' order. The "Siamese Twins" might have ended up in two places at once due to this reorganization. Another theory is that when redrawing the old comic to add color, I accidentally saved the file in the future-comics folder instead of the adding-color-to-older-comics folder.
Anyway, I'm really sorry about that, and I'm debating about replacing one of them with a brand new comic so that people clicking through the list of cartoons won't be angered or confused by this duality.
In other news, the redraws are sooo close to being finished! I can almost taste it. I figure they'll be all done by the end of the month! It takes on average 20 minutes to draw one comic in color, and keep in mind I've got over 200 comics so far in the archives. That's around 70 hours. Not to mention I've got to keep up with current comics and bonus comics.
Hey, that is quite an achievement: 200 comics in the archives, WOOT!

YAY! I finally finished redrawing all my comics! Over 200 comics redrawn in color! Here is a screenshot that shows all my comics miniature-scale, so you can see the magnitude of the work I've been doing for the past few months:
I've been slacking on drawing new comics, so my next order of business is to build up a supply of future comics and then eventually I'll get around to learning Java. I may have to push back the release date of my game, darn it.

I've been busy because I'm also working on my syndicated snowman comic for a new school newspaper, The Bottom Line. There's been a lot of meetings, because we're just starting out and I really want to do as much as I can for it.
UCSB has a newspaper currently called The Nexus, but a lot of students are not satisfied with what this paper prints. Awhile ago there was a town meeting discussing how several Nexus articles have racist, sexist or heteronormative spins. I've also talked to friends who feel like they were misquoted by The Nexus, and I personally know that they've left out sides of the story that they disagreed with (for example, they left out the fact that at least one student didn't want the quiet hour laws pushed back). I personally believe the Nexus' Friday comics suck too.
So anyway, Associated Students decided to put together a newspaper and so far we're aiming to publish every other week. We're also aiming to be a more accurate, level alternative source of news. We don't yet publish as often as The Nexus, but we're just coming out. I promise you I'll get the comics up on the web soon. They'll have their own little section on the site.

Okay! I've been super-busy. I'm the comic artist for The Bottom Line, my school's new newspaper. We're just starting out so I've been doing so much work for it; not just being a cartoonist. We have meetings all the time, and Wednesday was our first distribution day, so I was distributing for 3 hours, whew! Anyway, it's pretty sweet; if you're in UCSB I recommend checking it out. You can probably pick up a copy in the paper stand next to the Flower Guy's stand in the UCEN.
This is an awesomely funny image thanks to my friend.
I was in the middle of drawing a comic when my friend came over. While I was doing something else, he edited that character by adding that comic, ha! I promised I'd put it on the site because it's hilarious.

Around California there's been a ton of fires, one is even pretty close to me. It kind of sucks, because I'm not really at danger, but the ashy/smoky air is giving me ailments all kinds. I've got a killer sore throat, spotty headaches and my asthma is back online for the first time in years. Plus I can't ride my bike without feeling ash flecks hit my eye. How gross. Darn you, fires.

Happy Halloween everyone, boough, boough! I like to spell out my "Boo"s like that because they look cooler. They're still pronounced the same. Well, I am happy because my midterm rush is winding down and I can catch up on reading and drawing more future comics. I apologize for the late bonus comic, I was a bit busy. In other news, I was Carmen Sandiego for Halloween; how awesome is that? I had the show's theme song stuck in my head for quite awhile. Perhaps I'll post a picture of the costume; it came out pretty nice.
And Happy Birthday!! You know who you are! :D
