Our plan now was to follow Day 4 in reverse, and whilst this was mainly on track and we hoped to meet Alen’s group heading in the opposite direction we would also have to negotiate some slipfaces in the opposite direction too.
After about an hour of driving I passed on the lead to Jet, whilst passy continued on the sweep position.

We had some interesting dunes to negotiate at times with lots of soft sand, and a real challenge to get back on the Day 4 tracks that we lost making us one set of dunes out, but Jet eventually found a way through and we were back on track hitting the Shah oilfield track at 1300 and down to the petrol station by 1345.
After filling up, airing up and eating my last sandwich and mince pies it was a long three hour journey back to Dubai.
