The 2006 MASTER PLAN
JUNE 2006 - The Maroochy Council is again compiling another
MASTER PLAN for The AIRPORT
All the Councilors and Bureaucrats (And EXPERTS) are DIFFERENT from
the 1998 Model
They seem to be Starting over from Scratch and making the Exact Same
Mistakes as before.
The 1998 Version acknowledged that the North/South Runway was
LANDLOCKED
and could NOT be either Extended or Widened, but the NEW Experts have
CHANGED THE RULES.
They are promoting a 200m Extension North (which they say will only be
used for Takeoffs to the SOUTH)
But we know this to be UNTRUE.
Once it is built it WILL BE USED. And when the wind is blowing from the
North, they will takeoff INTO THE WIND
They say the aircraft will still touchdown at the existing spot when
Landing from the North, but again this is a falsehood. They will use
EVERY INCH of Runway to bring in Bigger and Heavier Aircraft and that
INCLUDES the 200m extension.
And since the OLS over our rooftops is presently only 12m, How much
LOWER will they be coming if they are permitted to get away with this
SHAM?

VIRGIN
Sunshine Coast Daily -
Thursday
8/7/2004
Virgin announced it was BOOSTING the number of weekly flights by 7 /
week.
Thats TWO a day now.
Sunshine
Coast
Daily - Monday 26/7/2004
As from Friday 30/7/04 they'll introduce an EXTRA Melbourne flight 3
days
a week and commencing September 4th. they will have 2 every day just to
Melbourne.
Thats 3 flights a day right over our heads - GREAT!!
They've
TREBLED
our NOISE in less than 3 Months
We were far better off with ANSET (And they were SAFER) !
EAST- WEST- AGAIN?
Sunshine Coast Daily Thursday
14/7/2004
Sunshine
Coast
MP Alex Somlyay (Member for Fairfax) suggested Converting Worthless
Caneland
into a new East-West Runway and taking the Motorway underground as a
solution
to the everlasting Airport Problem
Geez -
We've
been saying this for the Past 30 Years!
But
Maroochy
Mayor (Joe Natoli) disagrees.
He is quoted as saying "An
eastern runway would take flights right over Marcoola and residents
have
told us in no uncertain terms what they think if that idea"
Obviously
it
IS UNCERTAIN because
this is
the EXACT OPPOSITE to
what WE
have been saying.
Perhaps
it's
the mark of a Good Politician to convince us that BLACK is WHITE?
JetStar
Sunshine Coast Daily - Friday
9/7/2004
SetStar
(Quantas)
won't be out-done by Virgin
21/7/2004 -
They've now
swapped
their 125-seat Boeing 717-200
for a 735 tonne Airbus A320-200
But the
present
North-South Runway is NOT strong
enough to take this EXTRA Load.
So the Good Ol' Maroochy Council plans on yet another $4,000,000-00
Runway
Upgrade.
Gee - THAT
makes
sense - MORE money WASTED on this Land Locked RWY18-36?
2004
Development
Maroochy Mayor (Joe Natoli) is
skeptical
of any East-West Runway proposal as he thinks the existing RWY18-36 is
only running at 50% capacity at the moment.
He is AGAIN urging Council to
adopt
a Short Term (Short-Sighted) Approach of
Up-grading
the Existing 18-36 for $4million dollars instead of building the
INEVITABLE
East-West runway for $20million.
And NOW the Motorway would
have
to be moved as well, because Council has SACRIFICED the Land to
the west which it had previously set aside 20 years ago for the Future
E-W RWY to allow for a CHEAPER Sunshine Motorway Construction?
SMART eh?
So
HISTORY
Repeats.
