INTERVIEWER;                Charles D. Turner

On 12-30-84 at approximately 10:15 or 10;20 P.M. I went to the Food Mart store on Hargrove Road to buy a drink and a candy bar. When I went in the store a white guy told me to go across the street to Austin's that they were closed.   I came  across the street and parked and when I walked in I saw this black guy standing across from the cash register, then I noticed the cigarettes all over the floor.  I thought that it was his wife and they had a fight or something* I walked over to the drink box and got a Pepsi and then I walked over to the candy bars.  I picked up one but I didn't want it and I put it back down.  I walked over to the counter where you pay for stuff and asked the black male where the lady was, and he said she's back there somewhere, I noticed a lot of water in his eyes.  He looked like he was shoving something down in his pants, he was turned with his back to me,  I went out the door like nothing had happened and I drove up tile street to where a friend lives and I told him that it looked like-the store is being robbed.  My friends names are James Jones and Kenneth Kent.  We got James's car and we came back to the store and a car was leaving and the black male was driving and he didn't have any lights on.  All three of us went into the store and looked behind the cash register where all the stuff was scattered and then we heard someone moaning- ' Me and James Jones ran back to where the moaning came from and when we got back there James asked the lady if she had been cut and she said no I've been shot five times.  Then I ran across

the street to where this lady and man were and asked them to call the police.  Then I ran back to the store.  The lady came to the store with me and the man called the police.  The lady was trying to help the shot lady with some towels.  Then the police came, I can identify the black man because he kept staring at me.

This statement is true and factual to the best of my knowledge-

Signed:  Ronnie Thomas
