PGSM - Act Sixteen

Usagi recaps how Naru set her up with Mamoru, and then they foiled some jewel thieves. She's starting to think that Mamoru might not be so bad after all... but no! She loves Tuxedo Mask. That's a totally different person.

Meanwhile, Makoto is still where we left her last episode, being pulled down into the hole. Rei and Ami let go of her to transform... They do the full transformation sequence in split screen. But since in Act 14 Ami demonstrated that a transformation really only takes a second, I could see how Makoto managed to hang on for that long.
Mercury grabs hold of Makoto while Mars blasts a fireball at the beret wearing Youma. It flees, closing the hole behind it, so they can pull Makoto out safely.
Mars helpfully tells us that the youma has vanished.

Not bad for the first minute and a half of the show.
During the theme song, Rei, Ami and Makoto walk back to Crown where they relate their adventures to Usagi. Someone must be kidnaping people to steal their energy - they have to find out where they are.
Makoto casually asks Usagi where she was during all of this. Usagi doesn't want to say she was with Mamoru, so she bends the truth a little. She says she was with Naru when the youma attacked. Ami asks if Naru is alright. Usagi is very happy that her friends care about each other.
Meanwhile, Makoto definitely has a cold.

That night, in bed, Usagi worries about Mamoru. She tries to think about Tux, but her thoughts keep turning back to Mamoru. The next day, she's still thinking about him. Usagi tries to logic away her thoughts, it's her fault he got hurt, it's only natural to be concerned about him. Just keep thinking that Usagi.

Ami sees Usagi and hurries to catch up, but Naru pounces Usagi instead, so Ami falls back.
She watches Naru tease Usagi about her date, and how Naru just knew she would get off well with him.
That's when Usagi spots Ami and pulls her over. Naru isn't too pleased. She remembers Ami's weird behavior in Act 14 and isn't quite sure what to think of her.
Usagi says that Ami was so sweet, she was worried about Naru. When Naru asks why, Usagi is flustered. She was so excited that her friends care about each other that she sort of forgot she made up the whole story about the youma, so she hustles Naru away, leaving a mildly sad Ami behind.

In English class, their teacher asks them to split up into pairs to practice a conversation. It looks like answering the phone to me, from what I can see of what's written on the board.
Naru asks Usagi to work with her, but Usagi wants to make it a group of three with Ami, but Ami declines. She'll wait until someone finishes and then take her turn.
Naru accuses her of wanting to work with Usagi. Ami admits that she does, but Naru asked first, so she has the right.
Naru isn't pleased - she says that Ami is being all self-sacrificing and making Naru look like the bad guy here. Ami said she didn't mean that.
Usagi steps between them, trying to calm Naru down, but Naru gets even more offended, thinking that Usagi is taking Ami's side.

Their teacher comes before things get out of hand. Since the girls can't seem to work it out, she will assign partners, so all three of them are split up.
Usagi can't concentrate on her work, she goes over to Ami and tells her that Naru doesn't mean to be a mean person... Naru is watching this. I'm not sure if she can hear or not.

In the Dark Kingdom, Nephrite is in his usual position of apologizing to Beryl. He still hasn't found the princess or the MSC.
Kunzite says that he would be better at Nephrite's job - after all, he has created a successful energy farm. Nephrite starts to argue with him, but Beryl silences him. She wants to hear more about Kunzite's energy farm.
He explains, he collects people, by means of them falling down the large hole, and they land in a white building. The beret wearing youma hypnotizes them, and they wander around aimlessly, while Kunzite's youma collects their energy and sends it to the Dark Kingdom. It's a neat trick.
Kunzite generously offers Nephrite the position as his assistant.
Nephrite declines - and not graciously either.
Beryl firmly tells them to knock it off. She's pleased with Kunzite's energy farm, but she doesn't like how he treats Nephrite. Nephrite works for *her* not Kunzite.
They are all on the same side - they should not fight amongst each other

After school, Ami is walking home when she sees Naru - or as Ami calls her Osaka-san.
Ami doesn't want to get into an argument, so she starts looking for an alternate way to go when she hears Naru scream.
The ground is falling out from under her.
Ami tries to help her, but she can't quite reach, and Naru falls through the hole and vanishes.

Rei and Usagi come running. Rei sensed it, but they didn't make it in time... or maybe they heard Naru scream. Anyway, Usagi knows that it was Naru that was attacked.
Ami looks down. I think it's probably because somewhere inside, she's *not* all that upset that Naru is gone.
All three of their phones ring - which sounds sorta funny when they're all together. Luna has found Kunzite's energy farm.

They head off to meet Luna. As soon as they arrive, Rei senses an energy field - a barrier to keep people from going in and out of the building.
That said, as soon as Usagi sees Naru walk past, she runs towards her, only to run smack into the barrier - an invisible wall.
Ami and Rei transform for the second time this episode, and Usagi does as well. This time the screen is split into three as it runs through their whole sequences.
The three try to blast at the barrier. They don't do a specific attack, just throw pink, blue and red power at the wall, but it just throws them back. So they try again with the same result. Ami tries twice more on her own, but gets no where.
Moon is impressed - Mercury is working so hard to save Naru, even after they fought.

Suddenly Moon gets an idea and runs off, but really it seems to be an excuse to leave Mars and Mercury alone. Mercury admits that she's worried that it's her fault that Naru was kidnaped. She is jealous - she wants to have Usagi all to herself. Mercury knows that she's being silly, but yet... she can't help it. She hates Naru a little, and she's worried that's why she couldn't save her. So in short, Mercury feels awful, and to make it worse, Usagi keeps saying how wonderful she is.
Mars scolds her. (And really, I think that's what Ami needs), She tells her that it's natural to feel a little jealous. Everyone has a darkness inside of them. It is NOT Ami's fault that she could not save Naru, and she should NOT hate herself... and she should definitely not hate herself for not living up to Usagi's expectations of her.

Usagi returns. She has gone to fetch Jupiter, who is mildly upset that she wasn't included. As Jupiter puts it, "I'm not *that* sick!"
Rei suddenly notices that a crack has appeared in the barrier. Sure enough, one appears.
With the added green power from Jupiter, they break through

Just as they run up the stairs, all of the captive people turn purple and collapse.
So they hurry off to find the youma. It manages to take out Moon, Mars and Jupiter, leaving Mercury the only one still standing.
And since this episode is all about her drama, she's not about to go down easily. She jumps on the youma's head, and Mercury Aqua Mist (Meeest as she says it :)) blows up the youma.
The others come over to her, all saying "we did it" but it seems to me Mercury did the hard part.
Then Jupiter sneezes... her sneezes are so powerful they shake the camera.

Moon uses her moon wand to return power to all of the people who are currently passed out, and a bunch of really confused people wake up.

The next day at school, they are in a cooking room, and their assignment is to split into pairs to make cookies. Usagi is worried. She doesn't want a repeat of the last time they have to work in partners.
Ami approaches Naru. She says that she doesn't want to fight, but she *does* want to work with Usagi. She's not nice enough to always let Naru work with her.
Interestingly, that makes Naru smile. She's glad to see that Ami is, in a way, just like her. Now she knows how to deal with her.
So, the two decide to work together.

Usagi is happy about this, until she realizes that now she doesn't have a partner. So the teacher offers to work with her.

Later, Ami is writing a card to give the cookies to her mother.
Usagi secretly plans to give hers to Mamoru.
Ami and Naru quarrel a bit over the left over cookies, but Usagi gives them a common enemy - they don't want her to have them.

The Dark Kingdom castle is being struck by purple lightning. Nephrite and Beryl are confused, but Kunzite is not. He says this is a sign of a reawakening of the Great Evil - Queen Metallica - or Metaria depending on how you wanna pronounce it.
But then there is a small earth quake and a glowing ball of light appears - it's Queen Metaria.

There is a pillar set up with four holes in it. Two have stones in them, while the other two are vacant. But one of the stones starts to glow, and it falls to the ground.
Amidst more flashes of lightning, the stone glows and reforms into Jadiete, who slowly rises to his feet. It seems Metaria's power has revived him.

After school, Usagi goes to Mamoru's house. (Naru had given her his address in the last episode). He lives in a pretty impressive apartment building. As she looks at it, her heart begins to pound, and she tells herself once again that this is just a thank you. She's in love with Tuxedo Mask, not Mamoru.

But then he comes out of his apartment with a girl... who's holding onto his arm in a rather girl-friend like manner.
