PGSM - Act Thirty-One
This time Makoto gives the recap. Kuroki Mio is still an idol that transferred to Usagi's class, but now they've noticed that she seems to like making things difficult for Usagi.
But everything with the concert seemed to have worked out
And anyway, Makoto has other concerned - she's the only one who hasn't awakened her senshi powers.
Motoki is telling his turtle all about the movie he wants to take Makoto to. It's not an anime like he thought it was, but he figures that she'll probably still like it.
She enters Crown and is surprised to see that Motoki has his arm in a sling. He tells her that he hurt himself moving some things - he's moving into a new apartment.
Makoto offers to bring him some curry tomorrow - she's making it for herself tonight and she always makes too much.
Motoki is quite excited - maybe he will get to take her out after all.
Usagi and the rest arrive at Crown to see Makoto and Luna-the-girl sitting at the table with a large pile of potatoes.
Makoto is trying to wake her senshi power by doing things that she normally doesn't like to do - like eat potatoes.
Rei and Ami really aren't sure that this will work, but it's worth a shot. Makoto is willing to try anything.
Usagi decides to help by putting a lot of salt on a potato, but it's too much and Makoto chokes on it.
Usagi runs around calling for water, and decides that the best way to get water to Makoto is to call upon the water senshi.
Rei is a lot more practical, she just gets a glass of water from off camera.
Nephrite creeps into Zoisite's room. He's willing to take Zoisite up on his offer to help him remember his past life.
Nephrite remains skeptical, but he's willing to try anything to get back into Beryl's favor, especially now that Darkury is gone.
Zoisite tells him that Beryl is not the one he should be following, but Nephrite tells him to give him back his memories, and then he will decide for himself.
Zoisite starts to play... telling him that in the past, the shitennou protected the Earth and Endymion.
Minako and Artemis discuss Jupiter's progress, or lack of. But Minako isn't too worried; Jupiter will get her power eventually.
For dinner that night at the Tsukino household, they are having potatoes.
The phone rings, it's their father, who's going to go away on business again. Seems he spends the entire show away on business.
Makoto is cooking in her silent kitchen, a definite contrast to Usagi's home.
All around her home are photos of her parents.
The next day, Motoki has a plate and a sppon and he's waiting for Makoto.
Soon she arrives with a container of curry just for him.
He gives her the movie tickets, saying that it's his way of saying thanks.
She grabs both, but he doesn't let go, saying that actually, one of the tickets is for him.
Makoto looks sheepish and there's an awkward moment of fake laughing.
Usagi hurries downstairs, all excited because she's heard that Makoto and Motoki are going on a date.
Makoto insists that that's not true, but Usagi is sure that Motoki likes her.
Rei says that she won't make fun of Makoto for going on a date.
Luna adds that this is a senshi exercise for Makoto - going on a date is another thing that she wouldn't normally do.
Usagi goes straight to the important question - what is Makoto going to wear? They use their cell phones to do a quick-change fashion show, with Makoto modeling.
Usagi has a lot of cute clothes on her phone, but none of them seem to suit Makoto.
Rei's phone is all uniforms and things that she can use for a disguise, but nothing good for a date.
Ami has a cute dress or two, as well as some strange ones. This earns her odd looks from her friends. (I think that some of them are left over from her trendy Dark Kingdom days)
Makoto decides to go with her normal clothes, and she stalks off.
Motoki and Makoto get to the theatre, and he drags her inside. The movie has already started.
They sit down, but Makoto makes sure that there is a seat between them. Motoki adjusts accordingly to sit next to her.
After the movie, which was apparently very touching, they go out for dinner at an open air restaurant/
Motoki is still all emotional about it.
He tells Makoto that she's such a feminine girl - that's probably because she's self-sufficient, as she lives alone.
This is when Motoki finds out that the reason she lives alone is because she's an orphan.
Luna pops up just as Makoto is about to leave, and tells her that she can't go. Then she tells "Kamekichi-san" to pull himself together, as Luna can't manage this date all by herself.
Luna reports back to the other three - that she made them have a proper date, since Makoto didn't want to. Usagi thinks that they should all go and crash Makoto's date.
Makoto and Motoki have finished eating and are now walking along the lake in the park.
After a few false starts, he finally manages to ask her if she likes him or not.
Makoto dodges the question by telling him that she's not feminine, all she's good at is fighting. That's why it won't work out between them.
Motoki takes this surprisingly well. He's glad that she has told him straight out. But, that doesn't change the fact that he thinks that she's a feminine girl.
On his way home, Motoki takes off the scarf that he has been wearing for the past twelve episodes as sad piano music plays in the background.
Usagi, Ami and Rei spot him, and Usagi asks what happened. He says that he was dumped.
Makoto is sitting, staring out at the lake for awhile before she finally gets up.
She turns around to see half a dozen or so black youma pop out of the ground.
She flips open her phone, calls "Mina! (everyone)" and the other three immediately nod into their phones and come running.
Even Minako comes running
Jupiter Makes Up and starts fighting. Most of the youma vanish into the ground, except for the one wearing armor.
Meanwhile, Jadiete has news for Beryl. Youma are appearing all on their own and are running amuck.
The purple light that is Queen Metallica pulses ominously behind Beryl.
Jupiter uses her Supreme Thunder but it doesn't have much of an effect - other than the usual special effects.
The youma that vanished before appear before Usagi, Rei and Ami.
Rei says that these youma feel strange - stranger than normal.
Luna-the-cat turns into Luna-the-girl who then transforms into Luna-the-senshi.
They pose five times before going into battle.
These youma like melting into the ground before the girls can hit them, and then sneaking up behind them.
Good thing that Venus has Sailor Moon's back.
Meanwhile, Jupiter isn't doing so well solo. She darts around, trying to avoid behind hit with the youma's giant Question Mark of Doom.
She backs into a tree and uses it to help herself up. She can do this - alone. She's used to doing things on her own.
Suddenly, a wind teases through the branches of all the nearby trees. The sky grows dark as a storm rolls in very quickly.
Lightning comes down from the clouds, filling Jupiter with green power.
Jupiter's power has woken.
She gathers lightning in her hands, and blasts at the youma, blowing it to bits.
The others hurry over to her to congratulate her.
But Jupiter is solemn. She was able to wake her power because she knew that she was going to be alone... she heard it in the wind. In her past life, she was always alone, that's why she needed to be alone to wake her true power.
Nephrite stops Zoisite's playing. It isn't working - he still can't remember.
Zoisite says that it's because Nephrite is trying too hard, but now the red shitennou thinks that this is really all a joke.
So Zoisite decides to switch tactics, opening a portal to London so Nephrite can meet Mamoru for himself.
Mamoru takes the teleportation to the Dark Kingdom pretty much in stride as he and Nephrite look at each other dramatically.
Not to be left out, Kunzite strides into the room and asks what's going on.
Since three out of the four shitennou are already there, Jadiete comes to see what's going on too.
