PGSM - Act Thirty-Three
Usagi and Mamoru hug during the sunset. Mamoru has come back to defy his past life.
Luna is not pleased. The Prince and Princess's love is bad. It always has been and always will be forever and ever.
Usagi sits at one end of the table, and the rest are at the other end.
She says that believes that Mamoru will be able to help them, and that the Earth will not be destroyed.
Ami trusts Usagi and Makoto knows better than to oppose Usagi on something that she's this serious about, but Rei is not in favor. Not only because of the whole past life thing, but with all their problems, Usagi doesn't have time to hang out with a guy.
But, Rei decides that even if she opposes it, Usagi is going to be with Mamoru anyway, so they just have to hope for the best, and continue to protect Usagi.
Usagi is thrilled, and jumps up and down, cheering. Then realizes that no one else is jumping up and down with her.
Luna isn't happy.
After the theme song, we go to the Dark Kingdom, where Zoisite has been passed out since the last episode.
Jadiete moved him to his room and waited for him to wake up.
The blonde can't understand why Zoisite is defying Beryl. After all, all their power, and even their life, comes from her.
Zoisite says that Jadiete is just afraid to remember his past life. Jadiete was the youngest, and looked up to Endymion like a big brother...
Jadiete shoves him away into his piano. He doesn't want to hear it.
Nephrite is bummed. He can't remember anything from his past life, and Beryl still won't speak to him.
Rei and Ami are talking about how they made Usagi happy, and then they part ways to go home.
Ami gets home and walks around the apartment, turning lights on.
She reaches the kitchen and sees a note from her mom. She has to work for the next two days, but she's proud of Ami's latest grades.
Ami writes a note back to her mother, saying that she's also proud of her, and that Ami will work hard to be just like her mom when she grows up.
Rei returns to the temple, also turning lights on as she enters.
She greets the picture of her mother and smiles at it.
Later that night, an ominous wind blows through some flowers. The flowers shimmer and sparkle and turn yellow.
Luna tries to wake Usagi, saying that she senses a youma, but Usagi proves quite difficult to wake.
Sailor Mars turns up to fight the stupid looking flower youma. There is the usual cartwheels and flips as Mars repeatedly sets the youma on fire.
Finally it vanishes, just as Ami reaches the scene.
Rei de-transforms in a shimmer of orange light. She tells Ami that its okay for now, the youma has run off to hide.
Suddenly, a light shines on them and they hear footsteps.
It's a police officer. And when they aren't in senshi form, Ami and Rei look like two girls... who should not be out this late.
While they try to explain themselves, we transition back to the Dark Kingdom, by means of flowers.
Beryl can sense that Metallica is at work again, without being guided. Kunzite is worried. He doesn't want Beryl to have that power.
The next day, Usagi apologizes to Ami for not being there for the fight. (A flashback also shows why Makoto didn't make it - she ran into a pile of bikes)
Ami is worried that the police might call her house and tell her mother that she was out so late.
Usagi's phone rings, she's got a text message or voice mail or something. Her phone is a camera phone of course, so it shows a picture of who the message is from - Mamoru.
As she's happily looking at it, Naru pops up and starts teasing her, asking her what she's so happy about.
Mio asks as well, and manages to get a look at Usagi's phone. Her eyes narrow when she sees the picture.
Naru takes the phone from her and returns it to Usagi.
There is some slight background talk about Naru's "condition" that Mio helped her with.
But Ami is distracted by a message from her mother - she wants Ami to stop at the hospital after school.
At Crown, Motoki is stunned that Mamoru has returned. Mamoru avoids answering Motoki's main question: "Why is he back?"
Then Usagi comes in and Motoki is even more stunned to see that Usagi and Mamoru are now friends - more than that.
Usagi and Mamoru go out to eat, and Usagi gives him the scarf.
He teasingly tells her that it's badly made, but he won't give it back to her either.
This leads to a tug of war over the scarf, with lots of laughing.
Mio is watching. Mio is not happy.
Beryl is not happy.
Ami waits in the waiting room for her mother at the hospital. It turns out that the police did call Ami's mother after all.
Rei is on her way home when a man gets out of the car right in front of her. He bows and greets her very formally, introducing himself. He is her father's personal secretary. He presents her with ID and then says that her father wants to see her.
The police called her father as well.
In the hospital cafeteria, tea and an orange drink, Ami's mother says that she also knows that Ami has been missing classes at her cram school lately.
She tells her daughter that she can tell her anything. Ami feels that she cannot tell her mother about being a senshi, or being an evil senshi for several episodes.
But she also blames herself, she hasn't been around enough for her daughter.
Then Ami's mother drops the bomb: she wants Ami to transfer schools.
Ami's not happy. She starts to explain, when her mother gets paged and has to go.
Rei is about half a block away from the car, with the secretary following after her.
She knows that her father wasn't worried about her, he's just worried about his image.
The secretary tries to tell her that her father is worried about her living all on her own.
Rei says that she doesn't want to see her father, much less live with him, and she storms off.
Rei hides in her room. Why is her father worried about her now when he wasn't worried when her mother was sick?
Flash back to little Rei, alone in the hospital, watching her mother in the hospital bed.
That is why she hates her father.
Rei and Ami tell Usagi and Makoto what happened. They are worried, but Rei just brushes it off. Ami sits quietly at the table with her color-coded drink.
Ami says that her mother wasn't mad... her mother said to transfer schools.
Makoto understands. Ami's mother thinks that her friends are a bad influence on her.
Ami doesn't want to transfer schools, but she can't tell her mother that.
Rei says that Ami should speak up. Ami's mother is just being selfish, making Ami the way she wants her to be.
This leads to an argument.
Makoto breaks it up by suggesting that they all go out for cake. Usagi and Luna agree, Luna switching to her human form.
They are all on their way when a car pulls up and Rei's father gets out. We know it is him by the important background music - that and Rei greets him as "Papa"
He looks rather oily, perhaps because his hair is slicked back.
He says that he knows that she was brought home by the police. He asks her to come with him and just listen to him.
Rei turns to the others and tells them to go ahead.
Usagi doesn't want to, but Makoto edges her away from Rei. Only Makoto knows the real story with Rei's father.
Ami is a bit impressed that Rei can talk so openly with her father.
Rei says that he is not her father. He was the one that decided to abandon her at the temple. He was the one that left her and her mother alone. He wasn't even there when she died.
He tells her that he had to work. She knows that.
Rei isn't impressed. She knows he cares more about his work than about her.
Rei won't go with him, and she's sure that her mother wouldn't want her to go either. She tells him that for abandoning his wife he is a horrible person.
Then he slaps her and tells her to leave her mother out of this.
Rei bursts into tears. Her father hurt her mother so badly.
The flowers are shimmering again as the youma appears.
Rei senses it and she runs away from her father.
The youma is terrorizing people, stealing their energy as usual.
Rei Makes Up on the run (full sequence though) and she starts battle with the youma again.
It blasts her with orange petals and knocks her off her feet. While she's laying there on the ground, she remembers her encounter with her father.... and when she was little.
Tears in her eyes, Mars continues to fight.
She gets knocked to the ground again and can't get up.
The youma looks up at a shout of "stop!" as Sailor Moon, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Luna come running in.
They blast at the youma and it vanishes. They all hurry over to Mars.
She gets up and detransforms, walking off.
In the car, Rei's father orders his secretary to bring Rei, even if it's against her will.
Ami's mother is waiting for Ami outside of the hospital. Ami is just a short distance away. Her mother wants to take her to an interview for a new school, but Ami doesn't want to.
So she runs.
