PGSM - Act Thirty-Nine
As in Act Thirty Eight the three remaining shitennou appear before Sailor Moon, with Kunzite holding his arm. They part ways, revealing Prince Endymion.
He draws his sword to Sailor Moon and tells her that from now on, they are enemies. She refuses to accept this.
Endymion reminds her how the world was destroyed, and they flash back to the now familiar scene of him dying in Serenity's arms.
Endymion puts his sword away. He says that he hasn't come to fight, just to tell her. She starts to follow him, but the shitennou block her way and all vanish. Zoicite gives her a rather dirty look.
Theme Song
Mamoru puts his sword away, back in his room in the Dark Kingdom, then asks Mio what she wants.
Mio is lying lazily on his bed. She gleefully says that poor Usagi-chan must be crying her eyes out. But Mamoru says that Usagi is stronger than that.
Back at Crown, Usagi is staring at cake while the others watch her. She tearfully declares that her diet is off, and she devours the cake, and a cup of tea.
The others are confused, they had been worried that something bad happened, especially after the opening scene.
Usagi cheerfully assures her friends that she's sure that Mamoru is actually just pretending, so there is no need to get upset. The others aren't as sure.
Usagi assures them all that this time the planet will not be destroyed, because she said so.
Luna isn't nearly as confident. Mamoru was the prince of the earth, and Usagi did sort of destroy the earth in the past... so he might come after her.
Meanwhile, Minako is sleeping in her current apartment. She is tired and wearing thin, but she's sure that she has to fight now even more than ever.
Artemis is still worried that she is taking on too much, she needs to pass on some of her responsibilities to someone else.
She realizes that he's right, she's been causing a lot of trouble for her manager (who Artemis does not like)
Usagi returns home to see her mother talking to Minako's manager (His name is Saitou Sugao). He and her mother went to high school together. He vaguely remembers Usagi, and spends a few moments studying her to figure it out. He remembers when she spelled out her name for Minako to sign back in act eleven.
He says that if he would have known who Usagi's mother was, he would have been a lot nicer to her.
His attention is attracted by Luna, who is another stuffed toy like Minako's. He takes Luna from Usagi and gives her a big kiss.
Luna's eyes grow very huge.
Then there is a nice transition to Motoki yawning. He has his stuffed turtle wearing the scarf that Makoto gave him and he complains to Kamekichi that nothing interesting is going on.
He's suddenly startled by a loud crash and he yells off screen that it's no good smashing things - it will only lead to more debt.
Back in the kitchen area, someone dressed in black with a red Crown Employee apron is not happy.
Back at the Tsukino residence, Usagi is shocked to discover that her mother is in the running to be a TV reporter.
Minako's manager has a friend who is looking for a housewife reporter, and he thought of Usagi's mother.
They're going to make an audition video for her and send it in to the producer in America.
Whilst Usagi and her mother run around the kitchen, human-Luna hides behind the counter rubbing her face. Some first kiss...
Kunzite strides into Mamoru's room and gives an ironic bow. Mamoru called him so he came. He tells Kunzite to start an attack on the princess. Kunzite looks rather startled by that.
The next day, Usagi and family and the manager go off to Adventure Park to make her audition tape. Saitou says that they need to have video of her as a reporter in action. Ikukio considers and then enthusiastically agrees.
So, dressed in a pink jogging suit with her children in tow, she prepares to take on an obstacle course. Usagi and Shingo are not entirely sure why they are there too.
With fire burning in her eyes, she rushes off to run through the course, chanting "Fight!"
Usagi and Shingo are less excited.
She runs through the course being coached and filmed by the manager. All of a sudden a rose appears in her teeth, for no apparent reason. Usagi even asks about it.
Usagi asks her mother if being a reporter really requires this much work.
Her mother agrees, saying that a reporter must be willing to go through any ordeal! And then Usagi is pulled into her mother's fantasy about being soldiers in training. She doesn't like it very much. Minako's manager, of course, is the drill sergeant.
There are lots of explosions while they crawl out of the fantasy and then just continue crawling across the grass.
Luna is bored, She shifts out of cat form and wanders off to do her own thing.
Meanwhile the youma of the day has turned up, a white robotic looking thing with a gun that shoots blue crystal arrow type things. The youma stands on top of a building and scans the area.
Now, all of a sudden, Ikukio is wearing a parka in a snow storm. She says that there is snow and wind on top of a mountain as she speaks into a very fuzzy microphone.
This attracts the attention of several little children who are wondering what this crazy lady is doing, wearing a winter coat and standing in front of a canvas backdrop of mountains. Their mother hurries them away.
Shingo has decided he has had enough of this, and he's going home. Usagi hurries after him.
Meanwhile, the marksman youma has found his target, which appears to be Usagi, given the large "target" mark on her.
She moves away too fast though, and something whooshes past her, startling her and her mother.
It only takes once more for Usagi to realize that something or someone is shooting at them. Or more specifically, at her. No one else present has enemies that threaten their lives on a regular basis after all.
Luna hurries over and tells Usagi that there is, in fact, a youma around that is targeting her. Except it seems to be more interested at shooting at her mother and the manager at the moment...
Usagi runs off so that the youma stop shooting at her mother. As they run across the field, Usagi and Luna Make Up in split screen . They don't say "Make up" in unision.
After they come out of their poses, the youma resumes shooting at them. They can't tell where it's coming from, but apparently they can't be seen if they hide behind a tree.
Luna concentrates and goes through an interesting sequence where candy and cookies orbit around her... which somehow tells here where the youma is.
They get to the top of the building rather quickly and Luna hits the youma over the head with her fan, scolding him that attacking while hiding is cowardly.
So the youma shoots at them, and breaks the camera.
Sailor Moon runs off with the youma chasing her. Luna is about to follow when Kunzite walks out. She blinks at him and then starts teleporting all over the place, hissing at him. Kunzite just sort of stands in one place, watching her bounce around. He faced off against her once before, in Act Twenty Seven, and she bounced around all over the place before coming up behind him and hitting him over the head with her fan.
So, he waits a moment and then raises his sword off behind him, deflecting her fan and sending it flying away.
Luna's rather startled.
Kunzite informs her that the same move won't work twice on him.
Meanwhile, Sailor Moon is running and jumping off tree trunks. She uses her moon wand to smash his weapon. Without a weapon, the youma runs away. Sailor Moon chases after the youma, but instead of finding him, she finds Mamoru. He draws his sword when she rushes over to him and reminds her what he said at the start of the episode, not to trust him.
Luna cowers away from Kunzite as he walks towards her. He snatches for her, but she runs away. She tells him that she has other tricks too. She spins her wand around and it turns into a gold fan... which is too heavy for her.
Kunzite gives her this Look like "You have got to be kidding me..."
Luna trips and her fan goes flying out of her hand and clonks the youma on the head. Luna uses her wand to blast the youma with her attack, Luna Sucure Candy. Then she bounces up and down when it destroys the youma.
Back to Sailor Moon and Endymion. He swings his sword at her and she ducks, using her wand to block him. He disarms her with a quick thrust of his sword.
Sailor Moon asks him if he's being serious.
With a rather impressive move, he slices through the chain holding the watch that he gave her in Act Thirty Six without cutting the rest of her clothes.
And then the glass on the face of the watch shatters, even though she caught it and he just broke the chain.
He says that's his answer.
When he raises his sword again, Sailor Moon's tiara starts to glow... and then the MSC.
And then... Metallica, down in the Dark Kingdom.
And then there is an Earthquake. Kunzite has had enough of chasing Luna around, so he vanishes.
A pulse goes out from Sailor Moon and everything around her starts to shake... including the bridge that Shingo was walking across. He gets thrown over the edge and barely manages to grab on, thus preventing himself from Certain Doom. Unfortunately, his hat is not so lucky.
Usagi senses that something happened to her brother... somehow she heard him scream from where he is hanging off the edge of a bridge that looks like it is meant for cars, not people.
She stands up and says that she needs to save Shingo.
Mamoru tells her that she has to calm her power down. She kneels down and concentrates, pleading with her power to calm down. The light around her goes out, and things stop shaking. Shingo manages to climb back up onto the bridge.
Mamoru starts over to Usagi. He tells her that she's right, he doesn't really want to fight her, but they can't let the planet be destroyed.
She can't depend on him, she can only depend on herself.
And then he vanishes.
Usagi hurries over to Shingo and asks if he's okay. He says he was scared, but now he seems to be alright.
Usagi realizes that she has to do whatever she can to protect him, and the world.
Meanwhile, her mother is still at it, hanging off a small rope bridge in the playground with Minako's manager. Luna just sort of watches them.
Back at her apartment, Minako is sitting, looking at all of her things, all that she has accomplished.
She sees Usagi and her mother on the news being interviewed about the earthquake.
Artemis suspected that it was the MSC that caused the earthquake.
Minako tells him that she has decided to quit singing.
Princess Sailor Moon, with her harp, stands there at the end of the credits.
