Blue Heron Pines is one of the area’s first created by
architect Stephen Kay who used the natural terrain to produce a beautiful
parkland style course which measures between 5,053 and 6,810 yards playable by
five sets of tees. Kay’s creation meanders through an ancient pine forest and
features abundant sand, strategically placed water and enhancing elevation
changes to add to its beauty and to challenge golfers of all levels of ability
The honors achieved by the Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
include Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Public Access Courses in 2002, Golfweek
Magazine’s America’s Best Public Access Courses for New Jersey in 2005, an
honor that was repeated in 2006. Golf Digest Magazine has
rated the course as “4 Stars” in its most recent “Places to Play” and was
voted “Best 18 hole Golf Course” by Casino Connection Magazine. Further
honors for this outstanding course include being recognized by lady
golfers as a "Top Women Friendly" golf course and "Top 100
Fairways For Women" by Golf for Women Magazine. Blue Heron Pines GC
also served as the site of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2003.
