* The Water Softener prevents calcium and magnesium ("Hard Water" compounds) from
being deposited on the RO membranes.
* The Brine Tank is used to hold salt used for regenerating the Water Softener.
* Salt in the Brine Tank should be food grade pellet salt.
* The salt level in the Brine Tank is checked daily to ensure that no water is visible in the tank
and is documented on the Daily Water Quality Monitoring Log.
