December, 2005
FINALLY, AN UPDATE!
- A haibun of mine, entitled Today, written for my recently deceased grandmother, Mary Shine, will be published in the upcoming edition of the World Haiku Review. I think Grandma would be pleased. :)
May, 2004
- This month, my haiga will be featured in the May 15th issue of Simply Haiku. I couldn't be more pleased as this is a publication near and dear to my heart!
February, 2004
- Due to time constraints, I have decided to
discontinue publication of Haiku Sun. I want
to thank all of you who supported the e-zine. Archived issues will remain
available on the site indefinitely. Be sure to check out the newest issue of Short
Stuff where I currently act as Visual Arts Editor.
January, 2004
- Happy New Year! It's been a while since my last
update. I've accepted a generous offer as Visual Arts Editor at Michael
Rehling's Short
Stuff and am also enjoying co-moderating the Visual Arts/Haiga forum at Haiku
Hut along with Ron Moss and Laryalee Fraser.
- My haiga, Lung Cancer, is in the December solstice issue of Haiga Online.
- Laryalee Fraser has been kind enough to include
my haiga a
widow too long in her guest poet/ artist project along with the work of
Mike Rehling, Jerry Dreesen and Geert Verbeke!

The past two months have been extremely busy for
Erin. The success of Haiku Sun, as well as her
new position as haiga editor for Simply
Haiku have kept her hopping. So we're doubling up on the news. Thanks for
your patience!
- Erin is one of the winners of the 2003 Tanka
Splendor Awards!
- Her haiga, Lung Cancer, will appear in the
December solstice issue of Haiga Online.
- She has received word that her work will appear
in the upcoming book, Sakura, by River Man Publishing.
- More of Erin's non-traditional haiku can be
found in the upcoming issue (no. 2) of Old Fedora mini-zine by Peshekee River Poetry. A
tri-fold exhibiting work in
the spirit of Kerouac's, "American Pops".
August, 2003
- Visitors may have noticed the new link, Multimedia
Blog, at the top of the pages in this web. Erin will post her photos,
art and haiga in this blog (journal) along with her comments.. Visitors can
provide feedback, ask questions, etc. via the blog. Hope you'll enjoy this
new feature!

- Erin has been named Haiga Editor of 'Simply
Haiku'. Be sure to check out this new successful publication owned by
Rob Mestre featuring the best in Japanese short form poetry with an emphasis
on haiku.
- Danaho Muse Ezine has published two of Erin's
digitally enhanced photographs and a poem in their Culturally
Speaking issue.
- Erin's non-traditional haikus
'even the dog licking" and 'daybreak' are in issue no. 1 of Old Fedora
mini-zine by Peshekee River Poetry. A

- Erin win's Honorable Mention in this month's
Poetry Board League Competition for her untitled free verse on writer's
block.
- A must read for any fan of haiku/haibun or just
a great read is Robert Wilson's Vietnam
Ruminations. It can be downloaded for a reasonable donation and the
content is invaluable.
- Due to Erin's current obsessive passion for Haiga/Visual
Poetry, we will now only feature a few of her most current works each
month. If you would like to contact Erin in regards to seeing more of her

- Erin's cinquain, Hands, will befeatured in the

Unhitched's March 2003 newsletter has included Erin's poems What's Left
Behind and Izzy.
- Two of Erin's haiku have been published in the

December 2002
- Buddha's
Temple (Editors-Lewis Sanders & Doris Pearson), a quarterly haiku
journal, has accepted several of Erin's haiku for their upcoming issue. Look
for it on their website in the coming weeks.
- Short
Stuff (Editor-Michael Rehling) has accepted eighteen of Erin's haiku for
their December issue. They can be read online at the website.
- Double edition of Flash!Point
(due for release this month) includes Erin's poem "Lust for Life"
and can be read online or purchased at their website. The poem features an
illustration by **** and the work of many talented writers/poets.

- Erin has received word that her 100 haiku
collection (tentatively titled, Nocturne) has been accepted for publication
as a chapbook in spring/summer 2003 by Flash!Point Press. We'll keep you updated on its
release.
