Latin Love Poetry

Si qui forte mearum ineptiarum
lectores eritis manusque vestras
non horrebitis admovere nobis.

--Gaius Valerius Catullus

If you who are brave will be readers of my trifles,
Then your hands will not tremble as they reach towards my works.

Here I have compiled many of my favorite Latin love poems, translated and interpreted by me.  I try to capture the essence of Catullian angst and lust.  These poems reflect more of my feelings than his, I fear, as poetical translation is a purely subjective practice.  I hope that you enjoy these timeless pieces as much as I do.  These are but lowly romanticized interpretations.  They are in no way a literal translation of Catullus' poems.
