Evening. You follow the path. The fading light make all things seem as if they were clothed in dream as well as shadow. The sound of singing, a clear, wistful barytone, does at first seem to you like the voice of the forest itself. It takes a heartbeat for your curiousity to be roused. Entering a clearing, you stop carefully at the edge of the forest. Still, you are not scared. Your meeting with the unicorn must have been a good omen. You can feel no evil here tonight. The man sitting by the fire raise his head to meet your gaze. He is young, with long, black hair falling down his shoulders. With a slight smile he beckons you closer. Strangely, he doesn't speak, just nods to you and raise the flute anew to his lips. The firelit silver striking contrast to his olive skin and dark, glittering eyes. Only then, you notice the singer. The creature sings with perfect feeling, a song about love and jealousy - a woman of the wandering folk promising the moon her firstborn child if only her beloved can be spared. Her husband surviving but when the child is born white as the moon, he believes that she has not been faithful to him and takes her life. You feel the sadness in your own heart, and that the singer is far from human is no longer puzzling you as your own eyes well over with tears.
"You must be a good person." The young man acknowledges softly. "It takes a warm heart to cry over a song." Sunsinger nods. "Just follow this path down the mountainside and it will take you to the village, there is a small inn nearby the harbour. If it is full I'm sure that if you visit the castle they will welcome you there." You thank them both for the song and the directions, as you turn to leave Iaron adds. "Safe wandering, traveler. Watch your step, the path is uneven and might be hard to follow at night." Leaving, you notice a small note in the grass.
