If Only You Knew

You gaze at me and smile.
I crumble much like a sandcastle
Under the touch of the ocean’s tide.
Of course you don't know,
You have no clue.
And I haven't the words or
The courage to reveal myself to you.
But I breathe through your laughter
And sail on your breath.
Your heartbeat is my life's rhythm.
Because of you, I am alive.
