Numbness Consumes
All I am, all I know.
Bitter-sweet victory
Is somehow shallow.
Desperate to touch
All I hate, all I fear,
Tangible nothings, in time
Reappear.
Huddled in masses
The undermined throng,
As Death slowly passes
The undefined wrong
Around, they partake
Of its hideous seed,
And gobble its blood
Bones, and sinews in greed.
Passed 'round the table,
Designed to instill
Hatred and fear,
Thus breaking their will,
The sacrifice only
Insures they have paid
Pennance to evil
As each soul is flayed.
Shell of the beings,
Piled in a pit
Where destitute daemons
Keep hell fires lit.
Empty beginnings
Shall end just the same,
For the pawns that partake
In the very last game.
