Ben Brasher
THE DEAD GIRL
We found the
dead girl
when the tide went slack,
still politely covered
half by kelp,
half by waters
restless rustling.
Her eyes were
open,
staring from
deep to deep.
I looked
at them until
they lit a fire
that burned
her memory
in my mind.
Born in Tennessee and raised in Indiana, Ben is Midwest through
and through. He is hanging onto his twenties (barely) and is a man
of many hats: husband, father, Marine, and sometimes writer. He is
currently stationed at the Defense Language Institute in beautiful
Monterey, CA where he teaches Korean to America's finest.
