At the
Molecular Level
He thought if she held his tears
she might be swayed to mischievous
behavior, increasing the odds of their soon
to be tryst. And the feeling of tenterhooks
an exhausting dilemma, all those butterflies
banging their wings through his horny
stomach. After all he’d read about mice,
how the male are weepers releasing
pheromones the ladies just can’t resist.

were bathed in sorrow instead of lust
and her heart became immune
to the thrust of his pelvis for fear
his vulnerability gave her an unfair
advantage, something he hadn’t planned
on.
