Sleeping before an
open window, I woke to the dawn tickling my feet. Rolling my body into the fleecy protection of my blanket, I snoozed comfortably, wrapped in invisible arms I could feel only in the thick cloud of my dreams. I snuggled closer to my absent man as he whispered his love silently in my ear. I felt his warm touch through the blanket and his hand moving slowly up my side until it came to rest lightly on my face. I moved to kiss it, but my lips found only empty air and sunbeams. |
