Following the trail as it goes ever higher, you come across a huge cavern of ice. Stepping inside, you are met with a blast of icy cold air. The tinkle of shattering ice in the distance echoes strangely. The cavern is well lit, small balls of glowing icy light are set in the sides of the cavern, their ghostly fires give off no heat as not to melt the walls. You realize they must be magically lit.
A young man's voice startles you, you jump back and look wildly around. When you do see who spoke, your mouth drops open and your eyes grow wide. Framed in the entrance to the cavern, with the eerie light playing along snow white wings stands an angel.
He smiles and speaks quietly. "I know what you're thinking, but I'm not a true angel, a half angel you might say."
You don't speak, only stare and nod dumbly. His eyes look deeply into yours before he turns away, majestic wings sweeping inches away from your face. The smell of storm and fire floats about him, you find that you cannot move. He brushes a lock of his blond hair out of his eyes, nods at you once, than disappears down a tunnel, a soft glowing following him as his figure recedes.
There you find a door that leads even deeper into the cavern. A tunnel of black ice heads to the left as far as you can see. Or you could always go back.
