The unique production debuted on March 25, 2003 and ended on December 15, 2007. 

"Two years ago I saw the Cirque du Soleil. It changed my vision of my performing. This is what I wanted for me. Rene said, You can't have a show like that. You can't travel with a show like that. It's too big. Forget about it. Its impossible! I said, Why don't we move then? He said, Are you serious? I said, For sure, I'm serious. Caesars Palace were interested in building a 4000-seater Coliseum for us. Cirque du Soleil's Franco Dragone was interested in working with us. Things turned out great. The only way to be stable is to be in one place. I'm going to be based in Las Vegas for three years. And I'm able to give the visual show I want for my fans. Every song will become an experience. It's not going to be singing one song right after the other. Its going to be 50 or 60 performers on stage with me doing things that I could never have on tour. Every song will be a video. Its going to be very spectacular".

Celine Dion and A NEW DAY… bring to the stage an unprecedented combination of performance, passion and technical innovation. The show is created by Franco Dragone and is presented at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Celine is thrilled with the opportunity to bring her music to a major theatrical production. “This show marks a turning point in my professional journey,” she said. “It will guide me to self-discovery, to push the limits of performance and offer a new stage experience to my devoted fans.”

A NEW DAY… transports the audience to a unique theatrical world; each song evokes a different visual experience. A NEW DAY… features the largest indoor LED screen in North America. The big screen is used to evoke the mood within the music and create an environment that transcends the usual physical limitations of theatrical productions. With lighting, projected images, traditional props and remarkably sharp three-dimensional screen graphics, the set for A NEW DAY… places Celine, the performers and, indeed, the audience in European town squares, great city centers, picturesque antique temples and starry sky-scapes. An extraordinary illusion of depth is created.

The diva is joined by a cast of fifty-eight performers, musicians and vocalists. The artists have not only worked at perfecting stunning choreographies, but have mastered the challenges of physical and aerial training and percussion and vocal sessions through intensive workshops in Belgium and Las Vegas. The elite international cast was selected from among thousands at auditions in Montreal, London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Belgium.

A brand-new, $95 million, 4.100-seat theatre, designed to resemble the Coliseum in Rome, was constructed directly on Las Vegas Boulevard specifically for this concert engagement which run till December 15th, 2007 (5 nights a week, 40 weeks a year, a total of 717 concerts). It is one of Las Vegas' largest and most elegant showroom.

The vast 22,450 sq ft stage has an enormous 120 ft wide by 44 ft high proscenium arch, one of the largest in the world.

An infinite variety of theatrical special effects are made possible by the impressive theater technology:

a modular technical grid;

a completely motorized rigging system;

1,200 dimmers controlling 1300 theatrical lighting fixtures, of which 140 are motorized;

a 5 channel surround sound system with 115 speakers powered by 125 kW of amplification;

four 10 000 lumen video projectors;

200 acoustical panels (32 sq ft each) to control the room acoustics;

a top notch control room with a state-of-the-art show control equipment;

the largest interior video display in North America.
