Nick and D came back with food. God I love those guys. I know they love me cause they went to McDonalds to get something to eat and I'm the only one in the group who really, really loves the place.
Nick looks at Rok like he wants to talk, but Brian and 'Stephanie' are talking to Kevin. He hasn't woke up yet. I'm honestly not sure what to make of her. She was fine in the limo, but...something about her is...frankly pissin me off.
Nick finally walks over to me.
"AJ, can D and I talk to you, man? It's important."
"As long as it't got nothing to do with "what do we do if Kev doesn't wake up" sure.
"That's not even a concern. Kevin is going to wake up, so it's a moot point." Howie is pretty emphatic about this and a little loud. Ann, Brian and Steph look over. We decide to leave the room.
"What's up fellas?" God I'm starving, but...now I can't eat...I'm too worried about Kev.
"What do you make of Stephanie? I mean, what do you think of her? Do you think she's legit?" Nick is stressed.
Now I really can't eat. "Look, ok, I don't know. I don't think she means Kevin any harm...but something about her strikes me funny. I don't understand why Kev didn't SAY anything about her. I...it just doesn't set well with me."
"Maybe she's only after him for his money?"
"No Nick. Remember she said she had her own. She doesn't need his." Howie remembered, but I was thinking something else.
"You know, we really don't know this chick from Adam. She could tell us anything and the only person to verify her is in some kind of non-coma. I think we should have her checked out. Have security do a background check on her. Someone isn't telling us something and since Kevin can't tell us, I think we should find out for ourselves."
"He'll have a blue fit, Aje, and you know it. That's too close to digging into Kev's personal life. You know how he feels about that shit."
I DON'T FUCKING CARE! I don't care how pissed he's going to be, I don't care that he's going to want to tear me to pieces. Dammit, I'll just be fuckin happy when he can yell and scream!" I can't take it anymore. This is so not Kevin. This shouldn't be happening, especially not to him. Jesus!
A nurse walks by and shushes me. It's all I can do not to slap her. I don't want to be quiet. I want to scream.
"Aje, calm down." Brian must have heard me have my fit and came out of Kevin's room.
"What is the matter with you? This is a hospital for God's sake!" We are all to damn stressed. I know B is more than the rest of us. I tell him what I want to do.
I was ready for some resistance from Rok. I definitely wasn't ready for what I got. "Well, if you're gonna do it, what are you waiting for? We need information and we need it now. I wanna know everything. Every Goddamn thing about this woman. I want to know why we don't know her. Shit Aje, I want to know how many guys she's had and how often she comes! Find out and tell me NOW!"
I looked past Brian and saw Stephanie looking at us. I nodded to the guys who turned and saw her. She didn't say anything. There was a thin smile on her face. She'd heard everything.
"Shit!"
