A lacklustre venture into sitcom territory from the normally reliable David Stafford, whose gift for creating flights of whimsy was held back by the choice of a leaden, unoriginal and screamingly obvious target.  The setting was the clapped-out former Soviet republic of Slomzovakia, where a selection of oddball characters were observed wandering down a variety of extremely well-trodden fleecing-the-tourists and misunderstanding-elements-of-Western-culture comedy paths.  The strong cast, which included Morwenna Banks, Josie Lawrence, Andrew Sachs and Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel's Michael Roberts, seem to have enjoyed themselves, adopting a variety of ludicrous accents with melodramatic performances to match.
