Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Challenge Cup
2002
Edinburgh and Glasgow face each other at Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Challenge Cup
Final!
Scotland is certain to have representation at Rugby League's 2002 Kellogg's
Nutri Grain Challenge Cup final at Murrayfield, Edinburgh on Saturday, April 27.
A team from Cranhill's St. Elizabeth Seton Primary School will represent Glasgow
in the traditional Under 11 curtain raiser game to the Final and they will play
Wardie Primary School who will be representing Edinburgh.
And they will become the first two schools to compete for the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain
Junior Challenge because Rugby League's latest Cup competition backers are
supporting the Steven Mullaney Memorial Trophy match, one of the Challenge Cup
final day's most popular and traditional events.
As preparation for their big day at Murrayfield the boys and girls from Primary
Years six and seven at both schools will be undergoing a six-week curricular
programme that will introduce them to Rugby League's core skills and the game.
The programme will be delivered a by a coach from the Glasgow and District Rugby
League Service Area starting on March 4.
No doubt the talent scouts for Edinburgh Eagles RLFC will be keeping a special
eye on proceedings because their home ground over looks Wardie Primary School.
Mr Ian Davies from St Helens Schools, who is also Secretary for the North West
Counties Schools Rugby League, will be the referee.
