Scotland Students Face a Busy and Eventful Road Ahead.

The Scotland Students Rugby League international calendar looks set to be a busy and challenging one over the next month, with careful preparation and selection being the prime concern at present.  The 40-10 victory by the Student and under-19 combined side against the Scotland Amateurs last Sunday provided a great opportunity for the selectors to view the skills of both squads for the forthcoming combined international against Wales.   The Students will provide some of the squad for this amateur international match on June 16th.

It is hoped that there will be a repeat performance of the  Students' 40-8 victory against the Welsh Students in April earlier this year.  The following international facing the Student squad will be a tough one, against the Auld enemy the English on June 30th.  This will be a match which the Scots will not wish to lose after experiencing the devastating defeat by the English from an extra time field goal in the European Championships 2001.  The Scots will then begin their travels, setting off on tour to France and Italy to face a whole host of talented domestic teams over a two week period.  The month is likely to be a long but hopefully successful one for the Scotland Students, gaining vital international experience for the new members of the squad.
