 Bacolod’s most popular fiesta, is celebrated on the third weekend of October closest to October 19, the city’s charter day anniversary.    Festivities kick off with food fairs, mask-making contests, brass band competitions, beauty and talent pageants, a windsurfing regatta, drinking and eating contests, trade fairs and exhibits.
   The climax is a mardi-gras parade where revellers don elaborate mask and costumes and dance to Latin rhythms Rio de Janiero style; depicts the Negrenses happy disposition despite adversities in life.

  Bacolod is known for its sugar industry so don't forget to taste its delicious delicacies like barquilios and piyaya. The famous chicken- inasal is a must!

Panaad sa Negros is the "Festival of festivals", a week-long summer event every 3rd week of April that brings together the 10 cities and 22 towns in one showcase of trade, tourism, commerce and industry, arts and culture, beauty and talent, as well as games and sports. It features the individual festivals in a colorful and jubilant street dance around the Panaad Park and Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Flores de Mayo, Bacolod City Proper; every May 31; a parade of beautiful maidens representing specific symbol of title and authority of Saints.
Philippine Independence Day Celebration, Bacolod City Public Plaza; every June 12; celebrated by a display of Philippine flag and a parade of various sectors of society.
Christmas Tree Contest, Bacolod City Public Plaza; every December; annual Christmas tree contest and participated in by 61 barangays in Bacolod City.
Adopt A Tree, Bacolod City Public Plaza; every December; a project wherein a citizen can sponsor any tree at the public plaza by providing Christmas lights.
Feast of San Sebastian, San Sebastian Cathedral,  Bacolod City; every January 19-20; this date is the traditional Patron Saint Day of Bacolod City. It commemorates the evangelization work of Spanish missionaries.
National Heroes Day, Bacolod City Public Plaza; every April 2; highlighted by a Mass offering and laying of wreath at the monument of an unknown soldier at the Public Plaza with a 21 gun salute.
Bacolod Charter Day Celebration, Bacolod City; every October 19; this is a celebration of the founding anniversary of Bacolod City. There are programs, float parade and Masskara Festival.

REVOLUTIONARY MARKERS in Bago and Silay Cities and E. B. Magalona; 22 kms. and 15 kms. from Bacolod City, respectively; commemorate the spots where local revolutionaries fought against Spanish authorities during the Negros revolution of 1898 and the American forces later.
ARANETA AND LACSON MONUMENTS, Bago City and Talisay; 22 kms. and 6 kms. from Bacolod City, respectively; in memory of two great leaders of the Negros revolution.
FOUNTAIN OF JUSTICE, Bacolod City; where the Capitulation of Bacolod was signed between the Spanish authorities and revolutionary forces.
 INSTITUTO RIZAL, Bacolod City; first public school established in Bacolod in 1902.
CHURCH OF TALISAY, Talisay; 7 kms. from Bacolod City constructed in the early part of 1900's where the remains of Fr. Fernando Cuenca and Gen Aniceto Lacson are being kept.
