About |
Hello! I am Heather Neal and I own and operate River Hills Farms. I believe in: Patience, practice, perseverance. I have found that these qualities can make the difference between reaching a goal and falling short. Those that have been around me long enough know that I practice what I preach, and I encourage my students to have these qualities. My lessons include a variety of exercises on and off the lunge line to improve the rider’s position, control, and confidence. The use of patterns, games, and visualizing keep my lessons fun and interesting. I have been riding horses for more than twenty years. During that time, I have trail ridden, shown in hunters, jumpers, dressage, and western. I have also started and trained horses for those diciplines. In addition to these experiences, I have coached 4-H riders, taught beginner through advanced riders in western and English disciplines. My students are encouraged to attend shows and work to the best of their abilities! I believe my extensive experience with horses along with my professional training has given me an extremely strong foundation for understanding and teaching all riders, regardless of abilities, experience, or background. Whenever problems arise, I always return to my basic philosophy. First, be patient. Not everyone learns in the same way or time frame. Second, provide enough opportunities for the student, human or horse, to practice and learn a skill. Finally, persevere in the face of challenges. Riding well is not easy. It takes many years and mistakes to become an excellent rider. Patience, practice, and perseverance will help you reach your riding goals. |
