Band Biography: John Feldmann and Simon Williams were working at a Californian shoe store in 1994 and decided to form a band. Soon after they asked Darrin, from a local Starbucks to become their drummer. Meanwhile Goldfinger's original guitarist aborted to become a professional surfer in Costa Rica. John had a good friend named Charlie, that he thought would fit in perfectly.

Later on Goldfinger released their first Demo EP, Richter, the reviews were great. Now Goldfinger could record a self titled debut album, they recorded it in 1995 and released it in 1996. The success of their first single, "Here In Your Bedroom" lead to Goldfinger's popularity rising. They later released videos for "Mable", and "Only a Day".

In 1996 Goldfinger played about 380 shows, which meant they had no free time whatsoever. 1997 rolled around and Goldfinger released their second LP, Hang Ups. The sucess of their first and only single from the album," This Lonely Place" still did not compare to that of "Here In Your Bedroom". Although, it did well. Goldfinger also recorded a Spiral Staircase song, "More Today Than Yesterday" from the Waterboy Soundtrack. A video was also made of it.

In mid-98, Simon left the band due to musical differences, Kelly replaced him short after. In Autumn of 1999 they released, "Darrin's Coconut Ass", containing live cover songs. This was partially done to tie over their fans, for the upcoming release in 2000, "Stomping Ground". Two singles came from Stomping Ground, "Counting The Days" and "99 Red Balloons". A live CD was then recorded, from Goldfinger 2000 tour in England. They called it "Foot In Mouth" and I can be purchased at concerts and the official site's merch page.

In September of 2001, Charlie Paulson left Goldfinger after 7 long years. Brian Arthur, from the Texan band Unloco replaced him later on. On May 7/21 2002, Open Your Eyes was released on Jive/Zomba, and the single/video "Open Your Eyes" emerged. Who knows what the future holds for Goldfinger?
