Reviews The Green Room, Canberra, ACT Fri July 18th (supporting the Hard Ons) Once the first note was struck a few people started paying attention. I couldn't see much from the back, just Kat and Lucy's heads and the flailing arms of Ally. The sound was pretty good from where I was. A few fast litle punk numbers were played, with some between song banter. Some people in the crowd called out for songs. Kat called for some more guitar in the mix. Ally announced that she had splattered blood on her snare for the first time. They played for about half an hour including Hey Hey Baby (the one that really caught my attention), Paco Doesn't Love Me, Sunshine Drive, I Wanna Cut My Hair Like Marky Ramone, Surf'n Bird and maybe another Ramones song. I had never heard any of the songs before and they are the only songs I could specifically recall. After the show I bought the Sunhine Drive EP from the girls manning the desk for themselves and the Hard Ons. I think they must have sold quite a few. |
