My "Selection 2000" Rant

To begin with the lies perpetrated by the media and the right about Al Gore were never ending...he had supposedly stated that "he invented the Internet," that he discovered the "Love Canal," that he was the model for the character in "Love Story," and on and on and on bla bla bla..

The fact is, Al Gore never said he invented the Internet, what he said was, that he helped to develop the INTRANET by voting for it's funding when he was a state Senator. His statement to the press was taken out of context.The "Al Gore said he invented the Internet" rumor later took on mythical proportions when a commentator on "wired" spread the rumor about Al Gore developing the Internet. About a month before the election however, another article on wired published an apology on the Net to that very effect.
( But of course the public never heard that from the mainstream media.)

And of course who can forget the "love canal" story and how much mileage the press and the bushies milked that one for...of course Al Gore didn't say that either..he said he had discovered similar data on other environmental disastors LIKE the Love Canal.. But when you have a limited number of wire services and a good portion of them are owned by noted extreme right wingers like the Reverend Moon and Rupert Murdoch who is going to bother to publish the truth?

The "Love story" rumor was my personal favorite, not only because it was true, but because it was stupid and trivial.. The charachter in the movie actually was in fact partially based on Al Gore but more importantlyWHO CARED?

Then of course on the serious side of things was the treason rhethoric by the right concerning the dreaded John Huang / Buddhist Temple fundraiser... which is far too complex to go into here, but suffice it to say, that John Huang and company were no strangers to the GOP either and had also given cash to many MANY a Republican. John Huang worked for a GOP fundraiser just for starters ( but like I said this is WAY too involved to go into here... but can we say GOP set up? )

And speaking of China... for whoever wants to yak about the Clinton administration selling the nuclear secrets to China? Well maybe they had better take a quick gander at the Cox report, because the transfer of information took place under the two previous administrations.

They might also want to roll and smoke the fact that Marvin bush..dubya's very own little brother, sits on the board of a private, very cloak and dagger security company in Virginia,that specializes in government security contracts, that just HAPPENED to have the Los Alamos contract during the time that Los Alamos security was compromised...

Funny coincidence huh?

Conversely however...it was A-OK with the right for Dumbo to stump for contributions at Bob Jones U while he was on his mission to smear John McCain right out of the Republican primaries.
( Say what you like about McCain, but I give the man credit, he wasn't out pandering to the extreme religious right like bush and company )

And speaking of Bob Jones.. the "so called University," that is basically nothing but a conservative political institution, that preaches seperatism, ethnic superiority, religious bigotry and hate...An institution that as recently as a year ago had a rant about the inferiority of Roman Catholics on their web site and who to this day forbid inter-racial dating amongst students...

Of course poor obtuse dubya claimed that he didn't KNOW that Bob Jone's U did all of these terrible things...never mind the fact that his "compassionate conservatism guru," Marvin Olasky, is the president of "God's World Publications," which is OWNED by Bob Jones. After all how was dubya supposed to know who one of his primary advisors, that he had been associated with for many years, actually worked for?
( Of course it could be argued that dubya is indeed that stupid, so perhaps this wouldn't be out of the question.. but I tend to doubt it.)

In Marvin Olasky's book,"Compassionate Conservatism, what it is, what it does and how it can Transform America" the foreward is written by none other than bush himself and he also credits Olasky for "masterminding" dubya's own "vision for the future of America"

Personally having read the book prior to the campaign, I wondered if 9 out of 10 people even knew what bush was referring to every time he coined that oxymoronic phrase "Compassionate Conservatism?" It certainly didn't mean a nicer government that was going to cut taxes..Quite to the contrary, it represents an ideological plan cooked up by the Christian conservatives to merge church and state and line their own pockets in one fell swoop. ( about the only thing I can say for shrub, is that he did in fact state that he planned to completely gut the US constitution...but like anything else with dubya you had to be able to read between the bush speak to understand what in the hell he was talking about )

And Then of course we had the good Reverends Moon and Falwell, also wonderful messengers of God, who were tireless stumpers for our selected president in the months/years preceding the 2000 selection... not to mention rabid haters of anyone, or anything, in this country, that even resembles the mainstream.

I have in fact been the recipient of the glorious Rev Fatwell's weekly email "communications to his ministers" for many months now and they are completely political in nature with absolutely no signs of ministering to anything except for his own warped agenda. In the months before the selection these vile missives consisted of nothing but anti Gore propaganda as well as out and out lies...In spite of the fact that Falwell is clearly not preaching the word of anything but the bush GOP, he , like all of these other fraudulent "holy men," enjoy a completely tax exempt status. ( I was in fact not aware that God was a member of the GOP until I received Fatwell's regular e-mail correspondance )

Additionally the trials brought before the Georgia supreme court during the recounts "by private citizens," were all in fact, filed, represented and conducted pro bono by the Fatwell related, "Liberty counsel Org," which is run by none other than Fatwell's son ( yet another tax exempt scenario BTW.)

It is also worth mentioning that when the good Reverend's ministeries almost went bankrupt a few years ago? Well glory hallelujah guess who bailed his butt out? NONE OTHER than bush family buddy the Reverend Sun Moon.. You know the head of the now defunct "Unification Church" AKA an organization that our government previously considered a dangerous cult back before the country lost it's mind?

Moon is not only the owner of the Washington Times and the UPI wire service.. but he is also that whacky guy that refers to himself as God in the third person every time he opens his big Communist reared trap ( Hey I can scream "the commies are coming too once in a while"...)

Then last but not least we had "Faux News" ( FOX ) with Dubya's first cousin John Ellis at the helm to rely on for falsehoods on the night of the elections. Ellis, was the head of the "elections news desk," at Faux.John was kind enough to spend all evening on the phone with the jebster and dubya regarding Florida on November 7th ( He stated later in an interview "that it is was really cool"- thanks Beavis glad to hear you had such a good time eating "Cheatos" and playing with Dumbo and Jebbie at the coup party.) Ellis was also the guy that fraudulently called the race for bush at around 3 AM the night of the election.All the other networks rushed to follow suit of course not wanting to be outfoxed by FAUX.

Basically it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that george bush never WON Florida in the first place, but because of the manueverings of the bushies( courtesy of cousin John Ellis and FAUX news) Al Gore was placed at a disadvantage from the moment he called the to concede to dubya based on dubya's dirty trick on that fateful evening. Al Gore hence forth looked like a "whiner" and was bemoaned as such 24/7 by the media and the conservatives...( My God imagine having the audacity to retract your concession when you find out the other guy really didn't win!)

But that is the way the dubya camp operates..with deception and smoke and mirrors. If you repeat it enough, the public will eventually believe you, or get bored and move on. This is an old Nazi propaganda trick, later studied and adopted by our very own CIA and if you don't believe me you can look that up and take it to the bank..When our CIA was initially developed, many leftover Nazi party officials were studied & consulted by our government, in an effort to determine why their propaganda had been so effective. This was supposed to ensure that we could protect our own country from unscrupulous overthrows by madmen...as to why the bushies engage in this type of behavior... well you do the "fuzzy math"

And speaking of propaganda and dirty tricks...Karl Roves, dubya's campaign manager, learned to specialize in dirty politics from the master himself, Lee Atwater...but unfortunately most of the good citizens of this country still seem to think "an October Surprise" is a Halloween casserole recipe by Kraft.

The bush debate rehearsal tape that "mysteriously appeared" in the Gore camp was classic Roves and he in fact had pulled a similar stunt in Texas against the opponent when dumbo ran for governor there...

Bearing honorable mention of course... would be the idiots over at Freakrepublic.com and their ties with notables like Bob Barr and Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee..Huckabee was actually dumb enough, to not only perform at their tacky "inaugural ball," He actually posted as a member on their site..so there amongst the death threats towards Bill and the tittilating, pre-pubescent remarks about Hillary's thighs, Chelsea's love life and Tipper's waist size was the Republican Governor of Arkansas commending them for "really knowing how to party down"...

By the way if you have never had the special treat of visiting the Free Republic site you have missed out. This is the extreme right at it's finest...It is akin to watching a particularily bad episode of hee haw for those who have not yet been.

If you really want a good chuckle be sure to click on the photo album links to their pictures at their functions..especially those from the impeachment days and then more recently from the bush inagural hoe down at an Alexandria Virginia hotel ( Go to any search engine and type in "free republic Bob Barr" or "free republic inaugural ball" and you'll be treated to much more than you ever wanted to see )You have simply have not lived until you have seen Bob Barr posing and trying to look earnest amongst yards upon yards of polyester clad mountain women and big bald beer gutted gomer types. ( The founder of the freak Republic and his lovely Mrs are a particularily striking couple if you get the opportunity to take a look see at one of their stylish photos. )

In addition... If you hurry on over to freakrepublic "right quick like" you can probably still get tickets to their upcoming drunken golfing extravaganza in South Carolina where the ethical and impartial Judge Sander Sauls and Florida Secretary of state Katherine Harris are going to be their special guests ( Really I am not kidding)

An FYI by the way for those who care to know...remember the trials where the GOP operative came in and "fixed" the absentee ballot applications in two counties and had access to the state voter databanks for about two weeks unattended with his lap top in tow? Well that was done by none other than a Freak Republic member by the name of Michael Leach- if you run a Net search you can probably still find one of his freak republic posts if they haven't deleted it..he also had a website called "Grace under Fire" regarding his great love and admiration for Ronald Reagan as well as his utter contempt for the Clinton Gore administration ( No motive there right?)

Additionally while I am on the topic of "fixing things" there is also the little matter of who was in charge of getting out the GOP absentee vote in Florida ..None other than" Xavier Suarez" the corrupt ejected former Mayor of Miami that was charged with voter fraud and was himself booted from office shortly after his own "fixed" election. ( When the GOP wants to rig an election they don't mess around they get experienced people )

I am sure I have missed a few elements of the selection ...like Tom Delay's paid mob of thugs comprised of his office staffers for instance. They of course were paid on the taxpayers dime to storm the building where the Miami/Dade recounts were taking place, intimidate the workers, and stop the counts.

In addition I also forgot to mention the Texas marketing company that the jebster and Harris hired to deliberately scrub the voters lists of law obeying, tax paying, citizens, by labling them as "felons" so that when they showed up to vote they were told to go whistle Dixie. ( But what the hell were a few errors on the list give or take a hand full of real felons right? )

In the end however, I personally believe it wouldn't have mattered what the Gore camp did because ultimately the fix was in with the U.S. Supreme court.It was as in the bag as Dubya in Kennebunkport, just like the decision to supress the tapes of Manuel Noriega speaking with his lawyers from a Miami prison, was "in the bag" a few years ago, when the supremes ruled in an unprecedented decision to scrap the 1st amendment and keep the tapes surpressed. Oddly enough it was the first time in history that the supremes had made such a ruling and the legal scholars are still arguing about it. Of course the rumor mill has it that Noriega had stated to his lawyers on those tapes "That he had George Bush by the balls" but I wouldn't know I didn't hear them...
