and darkness
a single star that fell to earth
eternal sign of sadness
to gaze upon the face of god
in eyes that burn with madness

behold what fell from heaven’s reach
on wings of proud vermilion
the effigy of brightness with
an eye that sought dominion

what dark messiah shall descend
to pull the fallen under?
let wash away the burning light
and break the earth asunder
