Yes, folks, RoW finally has a new rant! If you haven't been living under a rock this past few months, you've probably heard of the new Harry Potter movie. And even if you have been living under a rock, you've probably already been beaten about the head and face with ads for the crappy merchandise that shares its name. (As was said in Spaceballs: "Merchandising! Merchandising! Where the REAL money from the movie is made!")
Anyway, you know where to click to find this new bit of ranty delight. Go to it, my sons. Go to it.
Well, 20 kph is up ahead of schedule. I'd hope to have the site up by monday, but after a late night and some sore fingers it's finally up. No comics yet, no, that's monday's job. But 20kph is up.
A little background, 20kph is my new comic project. I've redesigned all the characters from Tequila, added a couple new ones, and put them in something resembling a storyline. No more of this Penny Arcade-ish nonsense, no, all the madness and mayhem is going to happen inside a very general story. W00t.
Anyway, Tequila is dead and gone. As I said, you can still check it out for a while, but as soon as CP is up, Tequila will live on only in the form of jpg images on my hard drive.
If you want any Tequila comics for your very own, all you have to do is E-Mail Me and ask for the comic you want. But now, you'll need to get your daily dose of funny from Either 20kph, Captain Poncho, or my paper comic (which is still in the works), Pjoje.
While we're on the subject of asses getting places, and while I'm feeling silly plugging a comic that's far superior to our poor little Tequila, get your asses over to Mac Hall, my new favourite comic site. Well, barring Penny Arcade. Be warned, it's keenspace so load times can be a bit slow, and they don't update as frequently as I'd like, but this guy has mad art skillz. So much transparency and glowy stuff. Mucho bueno.
In terms of news, we've pretty much put the rants section on hold in favour of comics, a humourous medium of getting opinions across that doesn't require a huge attention span, as many of my essays tend to.
As I said in the comics newspost, Tequila has come to a close with today's - friday's - comic, which, disappointingly, is nothing more than a quick MS paint sketch. But such is the way of mediocre indie comics.
However, as I also stated, a new comic series is in the works, one with kind of a storyline to it, kind of a background, and kind of decent art now. And all without a WACOM tablet. (P.S. e-mail me to find out how to send me money).
Anyway, Ph33r Ph4ctory, as it is titled, is coming out monday, god willing, with the first comic, provided I can get the site design and stuff up by then. I wanna do some background and stuff.
Finally, Captain Poncho is coming! Moody's getting ads and stuff ready for your perusal and approval. Basically he's going to take the place of Tequila.
If you really want to get a hold of your favourite Tequila comics, then please e-mail me and ask for it by name or at least description. I'll just fix it up and put my copyright info on it, and you can do with it as you will.
But for the love of god e-mail me first, don't steal my comics. I'd hate to have to spend the effort hunting you down and giving you a hot plasma injection.
This comic is also very special because it marks the end of our five part series "The Transformation of Sean McGee". The rest of the newspost can be found on the comics page, so check it out.
Another bit of news, Meth from Original Gamers got it into his head to host Tequila, our online webcomic. So we'll see how that works out.
Speaking of comics, I put up number 4 in "The Transformation of Sean McGee". Check that out here. Finally, number five is inked and ready to scan, I just need to get around to colouring and lettering it and then it'll be up here for all to enjoy.
That's all from me. Thanks, peeps.
We may be Canadians, but such an act of evil touches us all, and we want to offer our condolences, as much good as they'll do, to everyone who lost someone due to the twisted schemes of a dark mind.
Bow your heads for a moment of silence in memory of those who were caught in the crossfire. We'll continue with the funny tomorrow.
In sorrow, Mark Edwards and Mike Moody.
Expect a few more comics on the way. I have a ton of good ideas. Plus an extra special feature: Mark and Moody vs. The Iron Chef! Spine tingling. Enjoy!
But all joking aside, I had a positively wonderful trip. Lots of fun, and I even came back with some new ideas. The first of which is today's rant. It's all about Pocko's Magic Wigglees. I had a ton of fun doing it, and it's got the most scanned images of any rant to date.
Second, you get a new comic. It's a re-do of one of my earlier ones that has never before been published. So it's not very funny, and it needs some explanation. See, I was annoyed with the activists in Seattle and all their whining about the WTO and such, and I decided to vent a bit of homicidal frustration by the medium of humour. Just take it as a bit of over-the top violence and have a ball. There're two more good ideas percolating up top, so expect to see them pretty soon.
Moody and I went and saw Tim Burton's remake of Planet of the Apes. Catch the review with comments from both of us here.
During my journy to Egypt and England, I came across a couple of things that were funny as hell. In Egypt, people are always selling these fake papyrus papers, vaunting them as "real", "authentic" and the like, and accordingly charging insane amounts of money for them. Most papyrus come with a "guarantee" of sorts, except that there's something... odd about them. I'll let you see for yourself (the best parts are underlined in green). Illiteracy or sneaky legal manoeuvering? You decide:
Pretty funny, huh? Ahh, love those sneaky egyptians. I don't speak arabic and I couldn't find anything wrong with the french, so I cropped those off. But that did come with a papyrus.
Second, I came across this beauty on the back of a package of Wrigley's Ice White gum ("Helps keep teeth clean and white!"). I squared the salient part in green. Scary, huh?
So there you have it. A couple of drollities from abroad. And that concludes my newspost.
MC Mark, rockin' da hizouse
