08/21/02

So these updates are pretty far apart. I took up drumming and blame that for the lack of updates, as well as crappy ISP service. I fly back to school on the second of September, where I'll have my T1 line back, so they should be closer together. This update is mainly a gallery update, since I haven't done much writing and editing and I'm currently on my old dinosaur of a tower. Dorothy, you know I love you old girl. So the inanely large amount of gallery updates numbers...12 new images. Sorting is going to be kinda pissanty though, because some of them are miscellaneous fantasy images and a couple of them are from a new book I'm working on. I'm beginning to wonder if I should really call the books I write books since they never get published, but then I think perhaps I'm just being sort of paranoid or self-conscious.

    Ok, so wow. That was the biggest singular update I've done on fanfiction to this site... since I opened it. New chapters of the following stories (and I'm going to list in bullet style for kicks):

• Incarnations (3 chapters)
• Vignettes (2 chapters)
• Separation (2 chapters)

    Also, though I skipped making an update here, I updated "Amoro Revidi" by linking the fanfic page to the new AR (or book 1 as I like to call it) page and guide, and made a seperate Big O, Act Fourteen page. If I can dig up my old fanart I'll probably make an "Incarnations" page of similar style soon. If not, I might get out ye olde image editor and have fun, like I did with the AR Guide banner, or maybe I'll just draw some new stuff. Maybe someday I'll color my images so I can do other things than just put effects on them in my image editor when I make banners and put up gallery stuff... maybe not.

So I also added chapter 24 here, since I promised to update this week, and I am in the middle of chapter 29 on writing, and am editing 25. Enjoy!

    Uploads in the gallery... (O_O) Massive uploads in the gallery. Mostly influenced by the fact that two of characters in Tokei got married and the father wasn't quite happy and... well, a lot of things. One more of Tahki, one more of Iona, one more of Gate, three of Kiri, one of Ata, one more of Logen, and one of Logen and his new wife, Unchia.

04/07/02:

    Happy Daylight savings, people. A whole bunch of stuff got uploaded here today, in the GW section. Amoro Revidi is taking a little while for the next chapter to get done, but until then I uploaded the following stories in the GW section:

• Textbook Legacy parts 1-3
• Vignettes part 1: "Moonlight"
• A Wedding Story part 1-2; "Proposals", "Session #1 Tape"

03/01/02:

    I've posted a new fic in the GW section, a short story I'm working on, but as for everything else it's pretty nil at the moment. I've got a research paper due in two weeks and hella drafting and shit due before then, so we'll see how Amoro Revidi comes along in the interim.

02/25/02:

    Through the trenches and despite a midterm and two design projects, I bring you part seventeen of Amoro Revidi, Intruding Darkness. I really will get updates going quicker in the later half of this semester, but I've been massively swamped so far. Part 3 of Last of the Pilots is up as well.

02 /16/02:

    Got up three more parts of Big O! Long Path of Recovery. I'm still working on part 17 of Amoro Revidi, and posts for the gallery, but I'm coming down with bronchitis so it might take a little while.

01/26/02:

    Noo... I'm not really dead. Not that anyone checks this thing anyway. I'm currently stuck on part 17 of Amoro Revidi, and basically everything else. v2.0 is coming right along though, so there is that much to be thankful for. Life's pretty hectic... but I'm managing. I created a shibbylicious gallery section that you should all go and check out if you like the stories, because there's almost always an image behind some part of them, and the frank thing is it might help you understand what's going on in the stories. Don't ask me why I didn't go into animation or illustration, I'll plead temporary insanity and run away.

    Anywho, that's just what I wanted to drop you guys a note about so you'd know I didn't die and etc... I'll try to update more fic than just the Part 16 of Amoro that I put up that AF wouldn't let me load until the other day ago soon, but I make you no promises. Chiao for now, Darkwood

12/23/01:

    Parts 13-15 of Amoro Revidi are up. Here and up on ff.net. 13 - Formalities; 14 - Waltzing the Minuet; 15 - Attack and Aftermath. Expect 16 by Christmas Eve, I believe, and 17 by probably late Christmas Day. This is barring my completion of the revisions to What Happened to You Heero? because after all, that is set on Christmas. Also, I believe that part 20 will be a pausing point for Amoro Revidi... I'm just not quite up to the unequaled task of writing it. This doesn't mean I'm going to stop writing it, I just won't be able to update quite as often the story.

12/18/01:

    Part 12 of Amoro Revidi is up, here and on FF.net. Still stuck in Xenogears so there's not really much more in Incarnations yet. Might go back and restart the entire game and see if I can do it any better tomorrow, but I'm also planning on watching the Tenkuu no Escaflowne series from start to finish to get some more bg on the people that we already know, and figure out some cool references for those I'm adding.

12/14/01:

    Oo... sorry this update period took so long, I was so exhausted this week that I literally slept for two days straight. My reviews are done and my heater's been fixed and I fly home tomorrow. As a little bon voyage to me and in hopes of whetting your appetites for the massive bits of the story that will be coming during my #x weeks of vacation, Part 11, Rendezvous of Amoro Revidi is posted here and on FF.net.

    There will be more Incarnations up over my break as well as *gasps* some more of my Big O story... and, who knows, maybe even some of my original work (O_o) as well. I'm really really excited because I might be able to get a copy of the Escaflowne Movie over break... if I can order it before the release date in theaters in January. Plus I've got to pick two other tapes to get with it and then pray to the high shibby one that the order goes through.

    That's all for now, I get in to my home airport at about 11 tomorrow night so if I update tomorrow it'll be a really late one. Chiao! Darkwood.

12/09/01:

    As a birthday present to Hitomi and me (go fig. we've got the same day?) I finished part 10... Habit. It's up both places today as of 12/10/01. I dunno how long part 11 will take, I'm fighting the system, and my broken heater... it's friggin' freezing in here!

As of 12/08/01:

    Return to Gaea has been renamed, finally, and the new name is *...drum roll....*  Amoro Revidi. Part 10 is on the way but is a little delayed because I started part 3 of Lives and Loves, thanks to lyrics by Ani Difranco. She might not be a heroine but she's pretty damn awesome as a poet.

    Part 9 of RtG is up, Less the Mystery. RtG art still forthcoming, depends on inspiration this week and the useability of my scanner before I head homeward on the 14th for break. I'm not shipping or packing it and so it's staying here at school while I go home. I'll have my laptop, just not the scanner or the printer... *frowns and then shrugs* c'est la vie. Finals end this week on Wednesday, but I've got a review on Thursday afternoon and I've still got to get a roommate sometime before the end of all this crap, so I'm still pretty rushed on time, please forgive the delays.

As of 12/04/01:

    Part 8 of RtG is up... Memory Fever. RtG art is forthcoming... I do *not* have the time to scan anything because of finals, even though I keep saying that I'm not going to be writing it helps keep me calm during stress out time, but the scanning and uploading thing just takes too long. Those updates you can expect later, either this weekend or next... Chiao.

As of 12/03/01:

    Part 7 of RtG is up here as well... the title is High Priest.

    Parts 4-6 of RtG (Political Fencing, Departures, and Edge of the Wood) are all up here on the site, but ff.net isn't uploading them in a timely enough fashion for me to worry about them right now. The move to envy.nu is on hold for a while because I haven't got the time to worry about that right now either. Welcome to finals week, I suppose.

    I'll keep working on everything, but posts will probably come in a big lump this weekend.

As of 12/01/01:

    Incarnations, Part Three: Encounters, is up, both here and on ff.net. Part Three of RtG (Disappearances) is up here and there as well. I'm contemplating moving to envy.nu, if I can get the name I want, I bet you can't guess what that is, can you? And if the uploading and publishing will be as easy as it is now. The server there seems to be more reliable than the one here at AF, not that I'm dissing AF, but trying to load something for almost five hours and it not working doesn't make me feel happy, especially when I've got other things to do at the same time.

    That's all for now. Tonight's strike for the show I'm working on, so wish me luck.

As of 11/30/01:

    Incarnations, Part Two: For Friendship's Sake is up. I'm working currently on Part Three of that and Part Four of Return to Gaea, where I go a little more into depth on the situation in Fanelia, because really there's got to be someone there that is wondering where the heck Van keeps running off too, and there's got to be something going on there to distract him from Hitomi. (Come on, otherwise the story would be really short.)

    I've got massive amounts of homework this week as well, so please bear with me as I get through my final exams, ok? By next week Thursday or Friday I should have other updates than the ones I'm putting up today and tomorrow morning. I've got four projects, two final essays, and a final presentation this week. But the show closes tomorrow, so I've just got that performance and strike on Saturday! Yay. This week has been long and stressful, but thankfully it fell into place towards the end very well. Now the research paper and stuff due next week.... :P not going to think about it yet.

    Well if I want to keep people reading RtG on FF.net I'd better go and write part four. If anyone reads this page, I'd like to thank everyone again for all their support of my work, most recently and especially Part 2 of Lives and Loves, Return to Gaea, Incarnations, musings, and What Happened to You, Heero? (The last of these is only a chap 1 story right now because the ending isn't de-me-ifized enough for posting yet.)

    And... who knows. If this keeps up I might pick up writing Utena and Gargoyles stuff again. Now whether that's before or after I finish this Dark Angel piece and the ideas I've got on The Mummy(Returns), I can't say yet. Chiao for now.

As of 11/26/01:

    Return to Gaea Part Two: Visiting Hours is up. Incarnations Part One Hindsight is posted, and I'm debating putting up the next part of Last of the Pilots without editing it, yet again... this really is unhealthy. I haven't even read over it and I think it's missing a transition from the prior part!! But I really want to get it out there two the like... two people that are reading it and enjoying it. I think the part I've got the most trouble with is Four, which is why I hesitate so much in posting Part III so soon. I'm going to be working my arse off in classes and at the game I work at and at tech crew for the production I'm assigned to this week, so it might have to wait until next week to get posted.

    If anyone wonders, the reason RtG is getting posted so quickly is because the chapters are short and I am writing them before going to bed or dashing to class, etc... they aren't taking so much time for me as they could be. Incarnations is coming along because my interest has been sparked, and I'm drawing to go along with it, and that's about all I can do for anything right now.

    Well I'm off to catch 15 of my weekly 40 winks for this week, so I'll type to you next update!

As of 11/22/01:

    As the main page has said for a while, Musings 6A and 6B are up. The teaser to Incarnations is up. I also added two new sections that I've begun work on:

• Vision of Escaflowne
• Dark Angel

    Work in both of these sections has begun. The first two parts of the Vision of Escaflowne fic is up, the prologue - Tragedy - and the first part - Restlessness - are what I've got so far. The Dark Angel fic is going to take a little longer and will be based almost solely on the new season. It's just how it's got to go because I can't recall all of the first season and I don't have it on tape. I'm also toying with ideas for a story about The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. Not that the two movies are cinematic masterpieces or anything, but I really like the playfulness of the storyline and I see sincere potential in it for... well for a lot of stuff, which is why I'm taking notes on it and preparing to start a background/continuation. I do this weird thing with my space-time relationships in some writing that makes this sensical for me, if not for you guys as of right now.

    Oh! That reminds me...

    I've done some artwork for Incarnations, that I'll be posting up in this section until I get back to working with the site I've got at Geocities where I normally house my artwork. Here's my GW version of Elhaym:

As of 11/06/01:

    Like the main page says, Big O Act Fourteen: Long Path of Recovery, "Interlude: Misinterpreted Signals" and "Scene 4: Disturbing Behavior" are up. Last of the Pilots is progressing nicely. Oh! HQ is in the editing stage for posting. It might end up as an original work since it's 60+ pages as it is and still isn't finished, it also might end up as a part of What Will Be, though, so I can't really be sure. Rest assured that whatever I do get done I'll put up here for perusal. I'm not stingy about how you get to read it, just so long as you do.

    ... I wouldn't know since I don't have an addy for you guys to send me feedback to. Hrm. I'll put it below the picture for now, but I think I'll set up a form to run it from for later. Maybe after I do this project for class due on Thursday. Anyway!

The only thing I can give right now is the following, which is an excerpt from my most recent de-lurker email on the 1x2ML, where I am in lurkish, if persistent, residence.

"Last of the Pilots" is on hold, since I've got this massive gap from the last part I posted until the next quote unquote sequential part that I've got to fill in. I *know* pretty much what's going to happen, but I've just got to work out what ties it all together, etc... pretty much the reason most fic doesn't get finished, basically. I've got the parts of the story that go on for quite a while after the point in which it picks up after that gap, but I feel that it needs something more... like it lacks depth or something.

I've been fiddling with an idea for a while (so many I'm going to have to start writing some of these about original characters, perhaps, and try to get them published ;) ) that follows one of the many versions of the romance I see between the two of them... it picks up sometime after EW and goes forward, but just like LoP I've got major time gap issues... though Aristotle's idea of drama of one day is majorly at work in the first half or quarter as it seems to be. Anywho... the working title on that one is "HQ" or "Headquarters" and anyone who'd like to beta read it for me should drop me a line at .... ... I need small scale opinions on it before I even contemplate posting it anywhere. (For instance one problem I'm having is that it kinda diverges from the canon we see quick shots of at the end of the EW animation... but that's something I'd rather not throw out to the whole list, <unless you guys want it ;) > since it's more of an author's leeway issue than anything else I suppose.)

Another idea I fiddled with recently came off of inspiration brought about by "Night on Peacemillion" and "Dawn on Peacemillion" by Lyssira Miokki, but I have yet to see the last couple episodes so I am not going to post until I get a chance to rewrite it after seeing it. And Lyssira, I just want you to know that I thought both of those rocked the world and I liked them no matter what! The spec title on that one is "Reunion" and it gets deep into bringing up the whole damn series (pardon my language, I'm really upset that I can't get the last tape until Christmas, pretty much)... which means that it'll probably be a New Year's present to everyone since all my other tapes are at home as well... (dern college).

Oh, and "Lives and Loves" is actually beginning to have a second part! I've been listening to music up the wazoo and I might have the proper song to go with it sometime soon... I'm debating on the setting, so if anyone remembers the story I posted and would like to help me out... drop me a line.

This turned out to be really a lot longer than I thought it would, so before I get into the other work I'm on, I'll stop. Just thought everyone should know that I'm still here and writing and all that... Since ff.net's acting up again I'm doing the majority of my posting to my dinky little site: dArK, and it's got everything I've done work on recently there... as for anything that was on my ff.net account, well... I'm transfering it slowly but surely. It takes time because I switched comps a few months ago and everything's buried oddly now...

I'm just recently getting back into the habit of writing GW FF, or rather back into the single-minded focus of doing it over other things, so the updates will be coming more concurrently from now on. LoP actually is getting part 3 worked on tomorrow evening I believe, and well... the post says the rest. We're starting up show run crews soon so I'm going to be significantly more pressed for time, but I'm still around and working, just so everyone knows. Take care and keep your chins up, Chiao ppl.
