Subject: questions
Hello. I'm feeling very drowsy here, so forgive me if I seem flighty with my
typing. I'm taking a drug called darvoset or something-- it's a mild
percocet. I'm still feeling some minor pain. usually when I wake up. I
can't smile or laugh or chew yet. my stitches hurt. but all in all, I think
my healing is going well. At least I dont' look like Marlin Brando anymore...
I kept my teeth, thought I might be able to use them later in a magickal
process. no too mention that it's pretty cool looking.... : )
I read the history part of the handout you gave us. So far I don't have any
questions on that. I have read the ritual circle handout. I do have a few
questions there & also I started some more reading on Spiral Dance.
In the ritual circle handout....
Who is Tana, Goddess of Fire? Is there some literature where I can do some
small research on her or her background?
Read the book The Gospel of the Witches, by Charles G. Leland
Will we always use her, or will other Gods/Goddess's be used depending on ritual/circle? No, yes, but she has a special place in a Gardinarian coven, see above book. 20 browney points to the first person who tells me what it is. (privately).
What does the oil represent/ do? Is it a purification?
What type of oil?
It is the start of the casting of a circle. Each person anoints the next, blesses them, focus on opening the third eye (psychic eye), it making us touch (hug) the next thus spreading love around the circle. If you noticed the Hp/Hps also kiss during there blessing, at some point when it feels right that could also be passed around the circle.
Will we use different oils for different circles?
Yes, depending on what we are doing.
Why do we start the circle in the East? What is this significance? Why not
the North? or the center? I remember reading in Silver's book that there
are 5 points to a circle-- N, S, E, W & the center where the Pscyche is. Is
this true or is there another concept?
Too much percocet, Yes. OK, follow link:
When we call the quarters, are they all represented by different guardians?
do they have names? do we use different gods/ goddess for this?
Yes they have names, at initiation you will
discover the names. Also there are "published" names that appears
in many magickal books.
Everything that I have read on widdershins says that it is evil, should be
used in "bad" magic. Am I reading wrong? Is there another meaning/purpose
for this?

And finally my last question....(sorry...) are we going to use any of the
exercises as a group that are in Starhawks book?
Yes I would like to, it is a good book to use for developing magickal abilities. Need to look int the Wicca for Dummies book and see if there are any exercises in it.
Exercise 8 seems pretty fun & imaginative. I will be very honest, my flaw is focusing, relaxing & visualizing.
