The
story is set in the year 1969, where Japan is improving well
in terms of it's economy. But it doesn't mean that everything
is well. Japan was being invaded by mysterious beings the
Earth Defense A.E.G.I.S. calls "invaders". It was
thought that these invaders were aliens but whether they are
aliens or not, it remains a mystery. However, it doesn't mean
that these invaders can take over the world that easily. Japan
has it's secret weapon, and they are the Gate Keepers. People
who can open "Gates" from another dimension and
harness unbelievably stong powers from it and protect the
world.
The
anime's genre is a bit on the comedy, sci-fi and action side
there are a bit of sentimental scenes but they aren't very
serious. The anime also has a cute last scene in the last
episode (but that's only my opinion). The story revolves around
nine of the thirteen Gate keepers. It's fun to watch especially
if you're looking for the more lighthearted types of anime
that doesn't get VERY serious in the end.
