Words of Wisdom

Song Of Sedna

22/9/99

I was born a mortal maiden,
Then wed to a bird was I.
He dressed in human skins and showered me with precious gifts,
He lied to me and led me from my father’s house,
To misery and despair.
When my father came to visit,
I begged him to save me.
Escaping into his boat, we fled and yet my husband’s people pursued us
And chased us across the ocean deep.
There I lost my life and my fingers as my father’s fear grew,
I sank beneath the surface,
Begging for oblivion to take me,
And marvelled as sea creatures appeared from my bloody fingers.
Given life from my death.
I was lost to the depths and a Goddess then I became.
The guardian of the oceans.
All life therein comes under my protection.
I, Sedna, Goddess of the icy seas,
I who hear the sailors pleas.

Song Of Sophia

22/9/1999

I am Sophia,
The first and the last,
I am Creation itself, just as I am wisdom personified.
It the beginning there was only I,
Born of myself,
I watched the unfurling universe and created the stars.
Then, from joy, I created Him to be my equal and opposite.
But as He bestowed life upon His creation, the soulless man,
He became arrogant and bid His creation to worship no other but him, lest He
strike them down and cast him into Hell.
So I was forgotten but He has always been afraid of my power.
It was I who created Eve, I who gave her a soul.
She in turn granted Adam realisation,
Denied to him by YHWH lest they worship me as a Goddess.
History was soon tainted and I became nothing more than an Angel of Wisdom
and celestial whore,
To whom no man was a stranger.
My doves, pure and untainted, were seen as His messengers.
As the Spirit I came to mortals,
Inspired they were in creativity,
To some I appeared; a vision in white
And winged like my doves.
Some listened to me, many did not.
For I am She Who Is Forever Silent,
Listen to me, my children, for I am eternal.
I am Sophia, the Mother of God.

Hymn To Isis

16/9/1999

Isis, Mistress of the Universe,
It was you who walked before Creation,
And you, as Eurynome, danced it into form.
As Queen Ast you walked in Egypt,
Sorceress and Mistress of the Two Lands
While in Babylon you were Ishtar,
Queen of whores and prostitutes.
To those of Greece knew you as Athene,
Wise Maiden of the olive grove,
As Koré, Lady of Death,
As Demeter, the Corn Mother,
And Hecate of spells.
But the Romans called you Isis,
The name by which you are remembered.
You were all Goddesses in one ageless form,
All facets of womanhood you embody.
You know all your daughters go through,
For you have also made life’s journey.
It is you who walks with her worshippers,
And take part in your own sacred rites.

I ask few things of you, O Mother,
Yet my heart’s desires, you know.
Isis, all I ask of you is this:
Grant me the serenity to accept that I cannot change
And the strength to change that which I cannot.

HELP YOU I WILL!
