Amy and Jonathan met as classmates in the InterConnect program at Mariannelunds Folkhögskola in Mariannelund, Sweden, fall of 1999, and became good friends. Friendship turned to love and the two became a couple during the spring semester at North Central University in Minneapolis. Then Amy and Jonathan's relationship moved into long distance phase of more than a year. After Amy graduated from NCU in 2001, she moved to Eksjö, Sweden as an au pair. She and Jonathan, who was studying in Jönköping, were able to spend more time getting to know each other. The couple exchanged engagement rings in Mariannelund on Dec. 19, 2001. Amy and Jonathan were married on Dec. 28, 2002, in the US. They now enjoy life together in Stockholm, the beautiful capitol of Sweden.
