Riddle Me This Riddle Me That, Who’s Afraid of the Big Black Bat?

Here’s how it’s going to go. Below there are three little quizzes. More like riddles. Each at a different level: easy-medium-hard. Once you think you have an answer to one then e-mail me with what riddle level you are attempting to answer and what you think the answer is. Please put contest entry in your subject line of your e-mail form.
Here’s the hard part: once you submit an answer I will tell you if it’s wrong or right. If it’s wrong then go back and try again. If it’s right then I will send you the next level riddle *not one written here* a completely different one. Then you answer that and e-mail it back to me. I’ll do this again one more (so in all three answers must be right) then you will get your award for the level you passed.
If you start in easy then the next one you get will also be easy not too much harder.

EASY

MEDIUM
“What is one thing that all wise men,
regardless of their religion or politics,
agree is between heaven and earth?”

HARD
“Walk on the living, they don’t even mumble. Walk on the dead they mutter and grumble. What is it or what are they?”
