I first got involved playing the keyboards in a 30+ piece orchestra when I was 15 years old. My Mom and Dad were a singer and a saxophonist. They were the ones who taught me how to read notes as well. For 5 years I was trained in my uncle’s very own orchestra. After 5 years of training I was offered to go abroad at the age of 20. The first trip encompassed Malaysia, then straight on to Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, India and Cambodia.
My singing career started when I was 26 years old. I was just a keyboard player and bass player but slowly tried to sing songs naturally. I did programming as well and managed to have a part time job in Radio TV Malaysia. Once my programming was released in a television singing presentation with my name written on the screen. Wow! I said.
About my faith, when I was just 7 years of age, my grandma regularly dragged us to church with her. We are her fruits. Naturally after that we went on our own joining San Carlos Baptist Church Choir. Frequently my grandma would share doctrine and the gospel with all my brothers and sisters as well as my father who is stubborn to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. After all we have been through, God lead us to be born again – which is baptism in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Through my grandma we were saved. Six of my sisters are also following Jesus’ footsteps along with another three of my brothers. I recall that the Apostle Paul said in Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.” One of my sisters is now a graduate of the Bible Baptist Missionary in Dagupan city, the Philippines, and was appointed to preach and lead the choir. Then I was the organist for the choir and our local church, and wherever God locates us overseas. I always wanted to serve God because He has given me the Way the Truth and the Life; given me peace, hope and love – happiness that can’t be explained despite many trials and failures. But I will overcome because Jesus overcomes this world. He will not forsake nor leave us. Thank God for giving me eternal life!
