Biography
You have perhaps seen Jan as she and her partner, Wayne head down the back roads on their Harley, breathing in the fresh mountain air in the Rideau Lakes, Ottawa Valley area. What a rush!
Jan and Wayne live in a very unusual octagonal home on Upper Rideau Lake. Jan has her studio overlooking the lake where herons fish from the dock and the muskrats dive and play in the sun. Watching the weather coming in over the mountain - inspiration!
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Jan Whittle is a resident of Westport Ontario and a member of the Rideau Lakes Artists' Association and the Manotick Art Association.
Art has always been a love for Jan. Participation over the years in art courses, seminars and workshops is a large part of that enjoyment. Currently Jan is working with acrylics, watercolour and mixed media - always trying new methods to express her love of the natural world and the emotions evoked by that world.
