Book 1 is a translation of the elven tongue of the old world. Parts of this book were unable to be translated due to lack of information. This book of the old world gives an over all veiw of what happened as well as focusing on the lives of a certain elven family. In book one, the beggining there is no mention of eululia for reasons un said. All ages listed in this book are based on appearances, not actual age.
In the old world when mother lylack was only a child, when the trees and flowers covered the earth, and the water was crystal clear, there lived creatures, creatures who possesed magics and knowledges. These were the creatures of faerie, and they consisted of elves, fairies, mermaids, stirlings, nymphs, and many lesser known species. The faerie creatures were good to mother earth, and lived harmoniously with eachother. The elves took to the forests, mermaids to the water, fairies to the meadows, stirlings to the mountains, nymphs to all different lands. Over the trillions of years their numbers began to grow, but slowly, for the creatures of faerie were immortal, causing them to reproduce very sluggishly. Then came the fatal day when the first human appeared. In the years to follow the races would question how it had gotten there, but during the present no one seemed to think it odd. The baby was a little boy with raven black hair and ivory skin. He was sitting under a tree one day when a female elf happened to find him. This wasnt any elf though, it was Elendil, first queen of the elves. She felt badly for the little boy, for he was alone, and though he wasnt an elf he did look a bit like one. So she picked him up and brought him back to her home, where she had a little baby girl about the same age as him. The king Mithro didnt object, nor did any other elf, for they were all a very caring sort. The elven queen named this boy Bendelin, and he soon became good friends with the queens little girl, Galadreil. Then a terrible thing happened, the little boy became very ill and died. No one had thought it possible that this child could die. They had known he wasnt a real elf, but they had always treated him as one and had thought him immortal as they were. The queen sobbed over the death of the young baby Bendelin, and asked if there was anyway he could be revived through magic. There was a way, one of the elven mages had said, but it would take the transplantation of elven blood into his own, so that he would become immortal like the rest of them. Only then would he awaken. So the procedure was preformed. The elven queen gave up a bit of her own blood for him, and it was injected into the dead little boy. The second the elven blood mixed within his own mortal blood he awoke, immortal as the reat of the elves, or so they thought. Meanwhile, other humans had turned up around lylack and where getting older and older, until they began to find eachother and group. The new race, named humans, took the plains as their own, building homes and empires. The creatures of faerie were not bothered by this, for none of them really used the plains, and if the humans wanted to live there they were welcome to it. So in the beggining humans and the creatures of faerie where friendly with eachother, especially the humans and elves, for the half human half elven boy gave them a since of kinship. But as time went on the human population grew larger and larger and became over crowded on the plains. The old rulers of the humans begain to die off, and new, less kind, more greedy leaders began to take over. Slowly they pushed into the lands of the faerie creatures, not thinking anything of it. Since humans had no magic they found an alternative, a thing by the name of science. These sciences let them create wondurous things, but along with these wonders came polution, and soon the waters got murky, making the mermaids sick. They fled to the larger lakes and oceans and stayed hidden from the humans, only wishing to be left in peace. Slowly the same happened with the other races, until they dissapeared altogether into the depths of their kingdoms, not wishing to be bothered. But not the elves, they still hung onto their kinship with the humans, still tried to reason. But the humans had forgotten their kindredship with the elves, and shunned them away, saying they washed their hands of them. So the elves and bendelin retreated into their forests, staying hidden from the humans for hundreds of years. By now, all the humans who had actually seen the creatures of faerie were dead, and the faerie creatures soon became myths, not believed by anyone. The humans continued to pollute, have meaningless wars with eachother, and build their homes closer and closer to the fairie creatures domain. By now Bendelin and Galadreil had grown into their late teens, and the two were closer friends than ever. They travelled everywhere in the elven lands, which only consisted of a large forest with a big, white castle in the middle known as lorien. One day they were sitting under one of loriens famed golden apple trees, munching one the delicous apples, when bendelin said, "I know this forest like the back of my hand. Why dont we just do a little more exploring, maybe in the human lands? We wont get caught, and it would be so much more interesting." Galadreil had hesitated before saying, "Well, maybe, but we couldnt go far.... Just to the outer rim of the place. If we just go only there I shall happily go, for I am just as bored as you. We must not be gone long though, for we will be needed when the war breaks out, for mother told me it would." Bendelin had just smiled slyly and said, "Dont worry, we will."
By this time, most of the faerie nations had had enough of the humans, who were constantly taking away their land. By nature the faerie creatures were not a violent people, but the humans had gone to far this time and would have to pay. The faerie creatures banded together, mermaids atacking the coast dwellers and travelling up the rivers, Elves and fairies atacking the human armies head on, stirlings sneaking into the castle to try asasanating the rulers and get information, and the nymphs burned down villages, taking a few lucky humans as prisoners. A race resembling angels called Wind Seekers took to the air, causing a devestating amount of destructon. The humans were caught totally off guard, awed at the angelic beings comming at them, for they had thought them only legends. But the humans also had their own weapons, things like guns that out matched the swords and bows of their enemys. They had bombs, and the had fighter planes to counter the magic of the faerie creatures and wings of the fairies and wind seekers. The Faerie creatures hadnt expected this.... but they couldnt turn away now. They would have to see the fighting through. Meanwhile queen elendil looked frantically for Bendelin and Galadreil but could not find them. She feared the worst, and perhaps she was right to. Mithro told her there was nothing they could do, for their people were at stake. Plus, the boy was half human, half enemy in his eyes. He had probably desserted them all and perswaded fickle galadreil to come with him. This wasnt far from the truth. Bendelin and Galadreil had been walking happily along together when a enemy group of human troops had surrounded them. They didnt even seem surprised to find the half elf and elven princess there, but acted more as if they had expected it.... Galadreil had whispered, "What do we do? They've got us... They dont even seem surprised..." At that moment she looked into Bendelins deep eyes, and in them she saw something she didnt want to see. Slowly she shook her head, saying "You didnt...." The young princess had tried to back away, but Bendelin grasped her arm firmly and murmered, "My dear, its not as it seems. You see, it all had to be this way. Your mother bringing me home that day, me dying and comming back immortal.... It was all fate, and I thought I belonged with the elves but I was wrong, I now know I was. But alas, I love you so much, for you are so kind to me... I love our, well your mother too, though I cant say the same for your father. Ive learned to love the elves, and really thought I was meant to stay here, but as of late, the elves have started to turn on me, even your father. Do not say I imagine it, for I dont. They dont trust me all because of me being half human, and yet the humans are so willing to have me back again..." A confused, sad smile crossed his face. "But you never turned on me, and mother never did. Come with me. You know the eves shant win. We can go find your mother and she can live in harmony here. What do you say?" Galadreil looked at him sadly, her lusterous eyes wide and confused. For a moment it looked as though she might say yes, "Well, um, uh...." The thoat of loosing him was unbearable! He was more than a friend, he was like a brother. And yet she had even deeper emotions for him, as he had the same for her. But her family! Her people! Could she trade them all in just for one man? Again she met his depthless eyes, and when she did galadreil saw something that made her blood curdle. Everything he was feeling she could read in those eyes... He knew he had her, knew she would go with him, knew she would do anything for him. Her pale, angelic face turned to a scowl as she continued to read those eyes.... "I hate you! Your a trader, and I'll never forgive you! I hope Im the one to cast death upon you!" Yelled galadreil, hatred flickering in her every word. "You think you know me, well you dont!" She pulled her slender arm from his grasp and ran into the woods, crying all the while. Bendelin stared after her, unable to speak. She hated him.... Hated him... The words echoed through his mind over and over. Those words were like death to Bendelin.... The tall, slender half elf recomposed himself after those few dreadful minutes that seemed like days and turned his back on the woods, growling, "If thats the way she wants to have it thats the way it will be...." Bendelin beckoned to the troop of humans to follow him, saying, "Come, let us go end this battle." The battle of the races raged on... Already the fairie leaders had been maimed and rushed off, leaving their two daughters Eve, who was galadreils age, and dawn, who was a small child of 2, to protect themselves. Eve valaintly took command of the fairies, proving to be and excellent commander, with Dawn always at her feet, determined to protect her sister. Not long after that the Mer King and Queen were killed, followed by the death of the stirling leaders. The only leaders left were the elven leaders, the Wind Seeker leaders, and The nymph leaders. Then came the worst part. A certain Black haired man shot The elven King in the heart, causing him to die instantly upon the feild of blood. Galadreil was right there when it happened, and caught a good glimpse at her fathers killer, who smiled icily at her and waved. Another bullet was shot, hitting Queen Elendil in the upper thigh. The queen cried out in pain and collapsed to the ground. She was quickly taken away to be carred for. Now the elven leaders were down, a thing which caused mass confusion. Even The Queens Sister and her husband had been killed, leaving Galadreils two younger cousins, one 8, the other 11, orphaned. So as her friend Eve had done Galadreil stepped up to take command. Side by side Eve and Galadreil stood, issuing orders to their troops. More than once did Galadreil encounter Ben, and when she did she took good aim at him and shot magic, arrows, and what not at him, but never suceeding in finishing him. All the human structers were destroyed, and all of their books of science were torn to shreds, causing the knowledge in them to be forgotten. Then came the end of the war, resulting in the human leaders deaths. By that time there were very few humans actually left living, so they fled, persued by their enemys. Some fled into the deserts, others underground, even a few ventured to brave the marshes, anywhere to get away from their enemys. But the faerie creatures population had also plummeted. There were very few elves, very few fairies, and even fewer nymphs, mermaids, stirlings, and alas, only 5 wind seekers left. The young fairy dawn befreinded one of these Wind Seekers, leading to her obtaining the later mentioned Wind Whistle In book 3 which explains the whistles. But what had become of Bendelin? After the fighting Galadreil herself had searched for his dead body, but had had no luck in finding him. Had he fled too? Or maybe he was dead... but in her heart galadreil knew he was still out there, waiting.... So ended the first war of the races. The elven nation was rebuilt, with galadreils mother as queen, and Moon Glider and Star Rider, galadreil two cousins, became like daughters to her. The fairy nation rebuilt itself, and the King and Queen were restored back to their former health, becomming the leaders once again. All the other races rebuilt themselves also, except The Wind Seekers, who seemed to fade away. Many of the other lesser know faerie creatures became extinct, so there were many losses that came from the war, but the creatures of fairie were back in power, even if their numbers were small.
