Semirae was born in Egypt, and was sold by her poor family to a slave
trader, in hopes that she would find a better life. She was sold
in Rome to a member of the senate. She was trained in Roman rituals, traditions,
several languages and espionage from the age of five until she escaped
at the age of fifteen. She then returned to the place of her birth,
to discover her family was no longer alive. Desperate for a way to
provide for herself, she offered her services and skills to the house of
Ptolemy XII Auletes, king of Egypt. She was assigned to one of his
daughters, Cleopatra, as a chambermaid and has gained the girls trust and
utmost respect. Her knowledge of Roman ways has been a great benefit
to the throne.
