More Movies coming soon:)

King Arthur-2004

Starring Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, and Keira Knightley. This film is currently in production in Ireland. It says that they are going for a historical and realistic view of the Legend ( I guess Monty Python wasn't realistic enought for them:). All I know is that Keira is taking fighting lessons and will be in the battles. Below are some pictures of the stars on set.
Clive Owens-King Arthur-The only thing I have seen with him is The Bourne Identity and Gosford Park.

Keira Knightley- Guinevere. She is very popular right now and is in the movies Bend it Like Beckham (very funny) and The Pirates of the Carribean (very cool).

Ioan Gruffudd-Lancelot. I have never heard of this guy before, But apparently he was in Black Hawk Down, I will have to look for him when I see it again.

here are some pictures from the set

Update: Here is a link to Pictures on set
Here also is a Fan site dedicated to the film.

Excalibur-1981: Starring Nigel Terry, Nicholas Clay, Helen Mirren, and Cherie Lunghi as Guinevere. This movies is based on Mallory's book and is very popular with Arthurian fans. It has been a while since I have seen this one so I do not remember much except for bulky plate armor, King Arthur shouting all the time, and they knights eating dinner in their armor, which I thought was funny. Mists of Avalon- t.v. 2001: This mini-series is based on the book by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It starred Angelica Houston, Julianna Margulies, Joan Allen, Edward Aherton, Michael Vartan, and Samantha Mathis as Guienevere. I have not read the book but my sister has and said they left a lot of stuff out. It was not one of my favorites but I loved the costumes and the scenery, and especially Michael Vartan as Lancelot:) For more on this movie check out the Official Site, or this Mists of Avalon site.

First Knight-1995: Starred Sean Connery, Richard Gear, and Julia Ormund as Guinevere. This version seems to go for a historical interpretation and has no magical elements to it, there is not even a Merlin. It is ok, my dad loves the music, and I thought that Julia Ormund did a good job. I also thought it was funny how everyone in Camelot wears blue. You can see this movie on the TNT channel regulary. Camelot 1967: Starred the late Richard Harris, Franco Nero, and Vanessa Redgrave as Guinevere. This movies was based on the Broadway musical. I have not seen this one yet but it looks cute.

Camelot 1960: The Broadway Musical starring Richard Burton as King Arthur and Julie Andrews as Guinevere.

A Kid In King Arthur's Court-1995: A Disney tv movie starring Thomas Ian Nickolar, Ron Moody, and Kate Winslet. I remember seeing this one. A werid one, the kid goes back in time to a King Arthur with no Guinevere or Lancelot or Round Table, and proceeds to do silly modern things like roller blade and play his walkman. It was ok for a kid movie. If you want to see this movie you might catch it in the Disney channel.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975: Starring Graham Chapman, John Cleese, and Eric Idle. The Monty Python group go on a "quest" for the grail. I haven't seen this one, but I hear it is very funny. To find out more about this movie, check out this Fan site.

Guinevere 1994- A TV movie starring Sheryl Lee as Guinevere, Noah Wyle as Lancelot, and Sean Patrick Flannery as King Arthur. This movie is supposedly based on the books by Persia Woolley, but from what I have read of the plot it sounds nothing like the books. Guinevere is a warrior and goes to school with Lancelot and doesn't like Arthur? However, I still want to see it. Maybe I can find it on video.
