Gail had given him a funny look when he said that he hoped that April's child was a girl, but he meant it. He loved his sons despite their mistakes, and wouldnt trade them. But it was difficult seeing them both playing with broken hearts—Eric breaking April's heart when left her for Mary, and Jake flirting with Emily, knowing she had a fiancée out there somewhere. And he didnt know what was worse—watching one son break another's heart, or watching the other set himself up for a fall.
But would a girl be any different? It takes two after all.
