Deconstructing X (part 2) |

During the transition to the first vertical ascent, a (+) spin is applied. The lead two cars are spinning, while the others are in a +90 degree position, with the riders face down. You can see the (+) spin as the cars continue the vertical ascent. The first two cars are in a "heads up" (+270 degree) position. The middle two cars are facing the ground (+180 degress). Cars five and six are at +135 degrees, while the last car is at +90 degrees.
At the top of the ascent, we see the riders "heads up," facing the same direction that they are going, the +270 degree position. The ascent ends with a quarter loop, which puts the cars under the track, and allows the coaster to reverse direction. Heads up, going up is probably a relief after the heads down, going down drop.
The +270 degree position is maintained through the "S" bend track. Riders are looking at the ground, and the track is above them.
The cars' position relative to the track is maintained as they enter the next descent. Home | Back | Continue >> |
