I've been writing since my mother handed me a green notebook one day and told me to jot down my thoughts. I believe I was in first grade. My first works were poems about the Virgin Mary and Jesus, if you can believe that. (Ah, Keelan! Product of Catholic school, thou art!)
My fascination with fiction and the creation thereof never really went away. It waxed and waned depending on the circumstances of my life, but no matter how busy or tired or lazy I was, I always knew that writing would be my sanctum sanctorum from the madness.
Unfortunately, I'd stopped really writing after college and after a sad sack ex-boyfriend took it upon himself to critique my work and pronounced them lacking. I entered "the real world" and gave up my pipe dreams of ever being published because I thought that was the "adult" and "responsible" thing to do. Thank goodness for fanfiction and my best friend, Gohan. Without those two catalysts, I'd be stuck staring mournfully at reams and reams of scribblings but no end result.
I still have to write something original and new; I'm stuck biting off other people's characters and doing my own little spin on them. (Thus the plethora of Greenwood fanfics.) Maybe someday, I shall regain my courage and pen something completely my own. In the meantime, here for your reading amusement are two completed works from kami-sama knows when. I'd dug these out one day, dusted them off, and decided they were pretty darned good.
Here's hoping there's more where these came from...
