Bird and Dancer
I like the way the color pops against the rich black. These two feel like friends. |
Palm, Comet and Wave
The palm formed in front of the sky and water is part of the same shape as the black of the background/mat-like area. These are both negative and positive shapes. The sky and water seem to rest upon or in front of the black background - yet the palm also reads as if it is in front of the sky and water... In 1997 Hale Bop was very striking as it was seen over the ocean or against the Ko'olau mountains here... |
Elements of Space
The elements in this image are frequently found in many of my pieces that play with space. I like the way some things are definitely in front of or behind another thing, but the elements that float could be near or far... |
