This title was originally released in 2001 in a hard-cover, 6" X 9" (casebound) format. The initial release date is reflected in its original subtitle: Spirituality for a New Millennium, which was later modified in the subsequent (expanded) soft-cover edition to: Tradition vs Technology. The original hard-cover edition still enjoys advantages in certain high-duty uses, such as library and/or textbook applications. By definition, this initial edition does not contain the eight additional chapters enhancing the most recent (expanded) edition. It also retains the original list-price of $24.95, a necessary factor for defraying the higher print-costs associated with the hard-cover binding. The alternate soft-cover edition, however, is similarly suitably durable in normal usage. Indeed, both versions share a high degree of common content, making binding preference the ultimate consideration in the ordering decision.
