DAD

Dads friendly lighthearted attitude
gave us all a feeling of gratitude

His loving and caring ways
he gave to us each and every day

Dad enjoyed life
he loved to play cards and cribbage too
loved to fish and always enjoyed a pot of moms beef stew

Dad was a World War 11 veteran
and severved in the Navy
was very proud of the USA
and was always ready to plug away

Dad worked for Norfolk & Western Railway
day after day
he would come home and tell his stories
on the order of the day

His love for crossword puzzles
with a ballpoint pen in hand
figuring out each word
until the very end

Dad would go to the KMart
always joking with the kids
he would make funny faces
he loved to do it and always did

Dads sense of humor
had us laughing so much inside
we laughed so hard until we cried

Arguing and fighting it would be
dad never raised his voice you see
we went to him and we pleaded
his look was all we needed

Stella, dads loving wife
with whom he spent 43 years of his life
The special bond the two have shared
showed how much they really cared

Squeek, Steve, Penny and Lil John
dad cherished you so much
with his soft and gentle touch,
always through and through
the love he had for you

Danny, Joe, Tina and Renae
grandpa always teasing you
and laughing all the way

Samantha came by to see grandpa and say goodbye,
a dimple in her cheek and her soft reply,
with Ian by her side, his eyes opened wide
looking in grandpa's eyes

Grandpa held Makinzee in his arms,
i seen the sparkle in his eye,
fighting back tears, not wanting to cry

Grandpa yearned to hold Alex,
Joe and Cheiko's son
It deeply saddened us all,
that this could not be done

Dads sisters Helen, Sandy and Cecelia,
he treasured in his heart
the stories he told
began to unfold
of your days growing up

Dad and his brother Jake
they had lots of fun
he loved him alot and considered him a son

Dad, in your loving arms
with Shirley, Marion and Jim,
your with them once again

Dads nieces and nephews
he held so dear
you brought alot of happiness into his life,
year after year

Dads friends were a big part of his life
he valued their friendship and hearty ways
to him those were the good ole days

Dad, through your loving soul
each of us will continue to grow,
thanks to you with your success
for all you did and how much you meant the world to us.

Dad, we know that we must all die someday
but it hurts so much to say goodbye,
Until we meet at heavens gate,
god bless you dad as we await.

WE LOVE YOU
"DAD"
