03 - April - 2005

2 new bands born from The Tortured... Nocturnal Death... a death metal band with Dave, Derek and Rick. These guys sound good watch out for them. There is also my own project Withnail, a hardcore punk outfit with me, Dave and Derek, punk played hard and fast with a metallic edge... Withnail is destined for failure, Nocturnal Death will do well because everyone in the band knows how to play their instrument... Withnail will fail because I just fuck about with the guitar and know basically nothing, but it's my passion, I'll fight for this band and I have my best friends backing me up.

10 - Febuary - 2005

its been a while, but I'm back online and here to update... if you forgot me, I'm the idiot who went to uni. The band itself has fallen apart, Lee and Rick wanted to leave, and I'm glad they have... after a good time with them, things went downhill. Their passion is more in the realm of death and black metal, good luck to them. They never learnt the songs, had little passion for the band itself, but they were alright friends. After an all ages gig at the roadhouse it became clear they didn't feel anything for this band... I may mark this as the death of the tortured, but it could be saved if I pick up the guitar, but for now everyone will concentrate on their other projects, I personally am hoping to set up a record label at Salford uni and push some form of hardcore punk project into being, I'll be working with Dave, I have a guitar and a shit load of ideas so a big fuck you to everyone, see you on the other side...

22 - September - 2004

Greetings earthlings, right, 3 new gigs on the go, one on the 15th October at the castle, with, as far as I know, Kill The Romance, then 2 on the 31st October, one at Jabez Clegg in Manchester (Mischief and Mayhem), and one at the Witchwood. We're not sure of the times of those yet, we'll be playing one set then driving to the next venue to play the other. We'll keep you updated. Im really looking forward to playing live again and showing off our 2 new guitarists. Speaking of which, I'll have pics up ASAP. Good luck as well to Gareth who moved to university on Sunday!

31 - August - 2004

we have 2 new guitarists, Lee and Rick, we're back on track teaching them all the old songs which are sounding better, the attitude is different now the entire band is relaxed and working together, it makes a big change. we have around 2 months before our first gig with the new line-up which will be at Jabez Clegg on Halloween, we're on the Mischief and Mayhem line-up, lets all rock on.

16 - August - 2004

home after the Satan's gig and it was great, the place is so good I want a job there (mental note do a CV to hand in) anyway, the bands were cool all really good people especially Forgotten Hopefuls who headlined, they showed some support and were easy to get along with, hopefully we have some new friends there. Big kudos to all the bands on the bill. It was great... I would organize another but we have just lost a guitarist (only just lost him but lets not waste any time... no disrespect Max but we need to start looking ASAP)

Thanks to Max for wasting almost 2 years with us losers, we hope you move onto some greener pastures, you'll do well.

15 - August - 2004

jus played the Witchwood and I need to correct myself it wasn People of No Description the bands changed and Soul Retrieve were on and they were ace.. the other band Epidermis were alright... didn't really watch them we were keeping Lindi company... she got denied. The guys from Epidermis were cool. We played alright and its a good thing we had a few friends round us for support otherwise it would have been bollocks

13 - August - 2004

back from holiday, playing at the Witchwood this Sunday and then Satan's on Monday (just a reminder)

03 - August - 2004

flyers received for both the Witchwood and Satan's Hollow gigs. we're off on holiday next week going to use the time constructively and get terribly drunk, also on the agenda will be the complete redesign for www.thetortured.tk which from then on will be used for video hosting and other such fun activities...

26 - July - 2004

we now have a guest book so sign it... or don't its your choice, it would be nice to hear from people. You'll find the link at the bottom of each page (don't click the picture thing as it tries to get you to sign up to Html Gear by Angelfire)

20 - July - 2004

we're playing Satan's Hollow on the 16th August, the day right after the Witchwood gig, those 2 days are going to be a lot of fun.

16 - July - 2004

The Tortured have been added to Altman - alternative Manchester, this site's main aim is promotion of local bands and venues. Altman also acts as an online community: become a member, set up a profile, talk to others with the same interests and add to the Altman calendar, make people more aware of the local bands you like and discuss your views with others who may or may not share them... This is a great idea and really helps the scene so...

08 - July - 2004

the lyrics have now been posted in the songs section

25 - June - 2004

the witchwood in their infinite wisdom have put the date of the upcoming gig back... it will now be on 15th August, and we think that is shit. They've done this before, the gig was initially on 4th July... then the 11th... now its not even in July. More practice me thinks and time to record. New flyers will be issued soon.

19 - June - 2004

we have now received the flyers for the witchwood gig, these will reduce the door price from £5 to £3, support will come in the form of Epidermis and The People Of No Description.
